Well i went to work this morning and showed my manager the rash

I'm almost beginning to wish I had shingles too.

Thanks for the advice,managers wont give you your sick record anymore because they think you will be working out if you can take a dodgy sick.

Garbage - You're entitled to it under the data protection act, tell em you need to work out how much leave you have left and for a medical reason, I get mine every time I ask for it :)

Correct, i just got a copy of mine after asking for it. HR won't send it to you, you must ask your line manager to contact them on your behalf, i got mine 48 hrs later.

Of course you will get a copy of your sick record if you ask for it.
Of course they will be suspicious if you go off sick afterwards.

As they say shingles isn't nice, been on a weeks AL and woke up with said rash monday past, followed then a few days later with blistering, local quack confirmed it as shingles after examination. Advice as you didn't get an appointment within the first 48 hrs, it's a case of just letting it run its course but told to take pain killer like ibuprofen.

Must admit I was really lucky when I had shingles, a few spots and a little back pain, nothing bad, but have heard when it's bad it's really bad, hope u feel better soon x
