You can add me to the list of people that think immigration has been good for “Britain” as well. The main argument against immigration always seem to come down to either cash or British culture or both by those against immigration who always excuse the way people in the UK are ripped off by multi BILLIONS of pounds each and every year by the employing class (who just happen to use migration as a tap they turn on and off to divide and control working people) and not the chicken feed small change that migration "may" cost the "tax payer" whilst they ignore the major financial contributions that migrant workers pay in to the country as well as the fact that "British" culture has been evolving for at least three thousand years with successive waves of migrants adding to the diversity and culture of the people in these isles. For myself i believe workers should know no borders as we will all go to the best place we can to look after and feed our families and give ourselves the best chance of a half decent life if we want to start afresh.

Do I consider myself an immigrant because I am Jewish? No, I am 100% English. My great-great-grandparents came over from Belarus in the late 1890's, by the time Hitler was doing his purges in Eastern Europe in the 1940's my grandparents were living in London as English citizens, Jewish, but now almost totally assimilated. Two generations on, I am completely English - not Belarussian, but I remain a Jew, so in the eyes of the the BNP I am probably a worthless immigrant!

Over the centuries...yes it has been good, and has shaped Britain, but when politicians say "immigrants have enriched our society" you just know he's quoting the same old same old with one eye on those immigrants' votes.

1. The unqualified immigrants did the jobs (and still do) a lot of whities didn't want to - cleaners, bus drivers, agricultural labourers, unsocial hours etc etc.
2. The qualified immigrants bring a wealth of knowledge and research - medicine, mathematics etc etc
3. Your "cuisine" has been enhanced by the availabilty of chickken tikka masala, though stir fries have taken over in popularity as a healthier option.
4. We now have the Notting Hill Carnival instead of some Morris Dancers.
5. Many sports (football,cricket,athletics) have been improved by immigrants, raising the standard for whities to aspire to and to allow your little country to stand proud on a national stage.
6. I could go on and on. Immigration has been the making of this country. The only criticism I could make of immigrants is they should be made to bring a little bit of sunshine with them.

You will be pleased to know the BNP were crushed in the last set of "UK" elections and a growing number of all faith working people helped in their defeat, good people are good people and just because "i" choose not to believe in a certain faith is no reason to write off a group of people like the fascists do. What the Jewish people have been through the Palestinian race are now going through and we are mostly all workers and i support ALL workers that stand by other workers. You can call yourself what you wish be it migrant, English, Jewish or Belarussian it makes no odds to me. Empathy and action do.
