Typical Royal Mail Management in my opinion, they have messed up and in their petulance are now giving you a rough ride, Royal Mail have a duty of care for all employees as well as treating all employees fairly so if I was you I would have a word with your union steward to try and find common ground with this pleb of a manager, saying all that I feel you should have done this before going off with stress because one day soon you will have to step back into the same kind of atmosphere. Good luck mate and I hope all works out, it tends to and then you can put it all down to experience.barneyrotts wrote:hello, its now 5 weeks on still no minutes from the meeting or a decision, being put on different deliveries every day and getting messed about!!!!!!,had enough so i,m going off with stress!!!!!!!!,any opinions appreciated please.

Get on the CWU site and speak with the area rep whose contact number should be on there but at the end of the day if you feel better by what you are doing then do it but do it without putting your job in danger.barneyrotts wrote:thanks ,the only reason i am going off is because my rep is very hard to get in touch with nearly always answer machine, this is the last resort as i,ve had enough!!!!!!!!!!.my attendance record is 2nd to none, last late attendance 7 1/2 years ago and no sick for 13 months!!!!!!!!.

They can't transfer you as a punishment.barneyrotts wrote:i just received a call off my union rep and i was shocked and was told they could transfer me to another office!!!!!!,how can this be right.my nearest office is 6 miles away!!!!!!!!!!!!.what about expenses to get there etc.
There has to be a sound reason for it.
I assume the direction your DOM is taking is to remove you from driving duties permanently and he is making a case that there are no non-driving places available.
That should be easy to counter.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Yeah, and then he will be straight on the phone telling people concerned how you've gone sick out of spite.

and? the guy is suffering b&h at the hands of RM management as are so many employees at the moment, the knock on effect has to be increased sick leave for those at the bottom.
if your GP is happy to sign you off then let your DOM get on the phone to him.

I told you so, 'Misconduct only, written warning, re-training'. It just annoys me when something which is staring your representative in the face isn't nipped in the bud before it gets this far. (Although it is easier to see the whole picture when your can sit back from it a little further like I was)
I know congratulations aren't really in order but be happy that you received a penalty which was not excessive for the offence committed.

You have a s**t rep mate. Maybe you, and the rest of your office, should do something about it.
