managers june bonus

i have been told by my line manager that they are getting 3% bonus on their annual salary in the next week.Some of the senior managers within royal mail will be getting up to 7%.How can this be justified at all after having suffered the coleague share fiasco at uniform grade.Surely our union should be opposing these payments?

all mail centre managers will get their 3%-7% bonuses,however we did!!!!
this is a minimum of £1000 each rising to many thousands according to grade and dept

Because they've hit their targets:
1) Cause as much trouble as possible for the Posties, so they'll either quit, loose their temper and get sacked for "threatening behaviour" towards a Manager (cheaper than EVR). Or leave on EHR because of stress/depression.
2) Make savings on the wage bill (see 1).

At least that's my theory for them getting the bonus anyway.

Well they certainly don,t get it for ingenuity, thinking outside the box, employee relations, putting in a full shift themselves. Come to think of it they dont, do anything that a manager should do, just carryout Royal Mails slash and burn policy.

where i work the Managers ? could'nt hit a cows arse with the BIGGEST EVER

because 1-they are gutless and 2-we would waltz through their picket lines and prove conclusively that we don't need the plonkers by making sure everything worked perfectly just like wot happened in the 70's.
