Redditch postman robbery: Man is arrested

A man has been arrested after a postman was forced on to his knees and robbed by a man armed with what is thought to have been a gun in Worcestershire.

The robbery happened in the Matchborough area of Redditch, in Worcestershire on Thursday morning as the postman was on his rounds.

A police spokesman said a man stole the postman's gold chain necklace.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in custody where he is being questioned.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious at about 1115 BST outside Blackthorn Court, in Ryton Close, to contact them.

A MAN arrested on suspicion of robbery in the Matchborough area of Redditch has been released on bail.

The robbery happened at around 11.15am on Thursday, June 23 outside Blackthorn Court in Ryton Close.

A postman was threatened by a male armed with what appeared to be a handgun who stole his gold chain necklace.

A man was arrested in Redditch on Thursday evening on suspicion of robbery and has been released on police bail until September 16, pending further inquiries.
