The SA is on the beginning of EVERY early turn duty.If you want to do earlies,then you do the SA,end of.(this has also been agreed with the union at local level).

Let me take a wild guess why the union at local level agreed to compulsory SA on the early duties...

Is it perhaps because the local rep has a cushy early duty, and wants guaranteed overtime attached to all those duties, for HIS benefit, not yours ?

I don't think 1c and 2c receiving the same service would constitute a breach of RM's licence, though. I doubt you'll get many customers complaining that their mail is being delivered too quickly. I can't see Postcomm wanting to be seen trying to fine Royal Mail for providing a FASTER service. As long as 1c quality of service is not impacted by the changes, they won't be interested

The mech MAY be seperate,but all packets/manual would be totally mixed,so would arrive at DO monday mixed!
Also the other point about people not complaining about getting a faster service,im afraid you're missing my point-what about the people who have paid for a 1ST CLASS SERVICE,and who are getting the same service as somebody paying for 2nd???

hmm... that's clever and retarded at the same time, just with how the weekend network works (all 1c by road, NI, AB and IV are the only MC's that get air mails)

but saying that, wasn't this part of the 'weekend review' 2 or so years ago when everything changed to yorks?

I can't see them saving too much money with this idea anyway (which shouldn't be allowed to happen as AFAIK it breaks RM's licence agreement) as the inward MCs would need to have extra staff in (the numbers depending on the size of the office, etc) which would mean RM paying more people on Sunday rate.

what we are doing as of next week is to process our 2c mech letters as we get it in with the 1c, hold our local stuff until the next day, tray off rejects/refeeds/english and forward it to Glasgow who will then process it again.
