Re: sick to the back teeth
Spot on..how anyone would run about about daft for £300 a wk is just baffling ... The gates option is a good idea . Think its 9 months or so since P + L & its still a DISASTER ... Its actually no long now to mail really picks up & Crimbo .. You wid think 8 "managers" could,ve sorted the BIG problems out ... but hey its Royal Fail - PRIVATISATION sweeps should be handed out in every office IMOshimmyrule wrote:The problems the managers see, are the ones like me, who do the job to the letter, start at right time, break for the correct time, van check, door to doors prepped individually, and not all in the biggest one, i use a trolley, drive at 25 mph in a 30 zone, i work out the back o the van, wash van minimum o once a week in their time, see what im getting at.
Its the tits that run round and get finished, speedin in the vans , counting the mail as they walk, take short cuts , hurridly scribble out p739 s,finish early that i see as the problem,
No matter how much we argue wi the dums, they are always right.
for over 25 years iv seen the idiots run round, and every year, i see an office manager seeing scope to cut more hours out the office, the runners moan, and as soon as a revision comes in, back they go to flying round again, its a never ending cycle.
Its hard no to blow a gasket at the management every day, they really are the most pig ignorant, brainwashed, annoying chunts you can get![]()

Bollocks, managers who are testing the same people day in day out even after they haveJudgee wrote:

passed the speed test etc are bullying and harassing and this is not acceptable,it shouldnt be left unchallenged
especially when there is an AR rep witnessing it.Not all people can do what you advise and do get stressed
which can lead to errors ie losing a priority and hey presto your only one more mistake from being shown the door.

Danelectro stress can be dealt with by anyone. It's very much down to changing the way you look at things.
This week I have had my best mate go into hospital with a stroke, another is being treated for colon cancer and another just diagnosed with throat cancer. Things like this put the P & L ballsup into perspective.
Managers can piss and moan at you til they're blue in the face it doesn't matter. If you work to your hours and do everything properly they cannot touch you so why get stressed? Work your time then go home and forget about it. Managers will always bully and harrass. They get bullied and harrassed by thier superiors, who in turn get bullied by thier superiors all the way up the line. You get paid to deliver crap through peoples doors, they get paid to make your life hell that's just the way it is!
So you can relax, life is too short for worrying about jumped up little Hitlers trying to bring you down. Laugh at them, I do and it annoys the hell out of them. Save your stress for things in life that really matter!

Re: sick to the back teeth
That's an over simplistic view Judgee..
If it was that easy stress related illness would not exist.
If you really believe that management cannot touch you i'm afraid that you are delusional.
Some managers are not stupid enough to piss and moan at you til they're blue in the face.
If you watch someone long enough they will make a mistake, especially if they are under pressure, then the pressure builds, then the chance of another mistake increases.
It's psychological bullying and some managers are very good at it...and it's also very difficult to prove and i've seen really hard men in tears because of it.
Losing your job can destroy some peoples life in much the same way that serious illness can so to dismiss it as unimportant is missing the point.

Look i admire your strength of character Judgee and your objective analysis of what managers are up to is spot onJudgee wrote:Danelectro stress can be dealt with by anyone. It's very much down to changing the way you look at things.

but like i say different strokes for different folks and yes there are ways people can cope better in these situations
but short o Paul Mckenna hypnotising everyone who finds that difficult then what do we do? stand at our frame while
the guy/girl next to you is being tested every day and is clearly losing it and say nothing? The instigator of the situation
should be dealt with and the burden not placed on any individuals shoulders.Royal mail have a B&H policy as do the CWU
they shouldnt be turning a blind eye.

Re: sick to the back teeth
Exactly what I need to do but as you say is hard taking it from total DICKHEADS and that is what is running my office, I find it very hard to switch off from them and think it won't be long before I say something I will regret but really management are f#cking useless. As you say deeeeeeeeeep breaths then count to ten then........................................EXPLODE.Judgee wrote:You need to stop stressing, we got P & L had it a few months now.
You need to accept the fact that you will work to your time and do whatever they demand from you in your working hours... but nothing more!
Forget about what everyone else does and just get on with what you have to do. Haven't quite mastered this myself yet but I'm not far off it now and believe me you will feel better when you get your head around it!
Let all the managers snidey comments and bully boy tactics go right over your head. They tend to get wound up when you don't react so DO NOT REACT and you have won half the battle. Do everything by the book and they can't do a damn thing against you!
Deep breaths and relaaaaaax!

Re: sick to the back teeth
Danelectro If its the same people being tested on a regular basis either get them to log in a diary every time they are singled out, or you do it for them. Get witnesses to back up that they have been retested, challenged or accused of poor performance standards. find out if they have ever been offered retraining, counselling, coaching or if they have been accused of just takin the P.
If no training etc has been offered then its pretty clear its B+H in action. When you have enough evidence give a copy to your waste of time Area Rep and your DOM inform them that you are putting in a B+H claim and also grievence claim. You or the recipient will have to see the procedures through and dont be afraid to go above your Area Reps head if you have no confidence in him.

Have Dundee East asked for a ballot for strike action?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I believe in facing up to a problem and sorting it out in a diplomatic way not going on the sick as when you return from sick the problem is still there, if indeed you cannot sort the problem out yourself your union rep will do it on your behalf, it is then you will have to put up with the outcome and if it is not to your liking then seek happier employment, hope all goes well though for the chap.wayoutman wrote:it really is the pits at the moment.

i remember in the past they made a full time walk part time, because the postman just went too quick. doms want savings and if they have lots of quick postmen it means they can cut more hours out, and if you make time, keep quiet and dont brag about it.

Re: sick to the back teeth
No we have not, but 1 lad emailed higson, and next day Paul kelly, scotlands director appeared, and we are getting a lady from HR in for the next 2 weeks, and we are all to be taken in individually to air our views in confidence.POSTMAN wrote:Have Dundee East asked for a ballot for strike action?
One dom told us they have to act upon her findings, so one of us piped up, well why arent you doing your job now then, what difference will telling a HR person make, its a tinderbox the now, a lot of very senior guys are looking ill, gaunt, tired and have changed in attitude since p and l came in...........its very sad to see, and worrying for some.
For as long as i can remember,it seems the b and h forms never come to nothing, just brushed under the carpet.
80% of the p and loop people are now forced into going out on there own in a van, and more vans aare coming, as revisions are put on hold in other areas, fook, itl soon be 100% one man, one van..................it goes on and on...............
