Not as a matter of course but then there is no need to. Even the suspicion of drug use (which is a criminal act) is enough to be suspended and if deemed reasonable - being dismissed.donna28 wrote:Can you tell me if new RM carry out drugs tests?
BTW even if you don't use on the job, if you get lifted and charged by the Police even for personal use, you can still be dismissed as working for Royal Mail is a "Notifiable Occupation" at all levels, and that's why they do not need to do drug tests. As far as I know all employees of RM are recorded on the PNC (though this is speculation) so if you are arrested for drug possession and try to hide the fact that you work for RM, its likely they would find out you do, and you would increase your chances of being dismissed and charged/prosecuted.

some of their employees do. i,ve seen a few come in on a monday mornings over the years, worse for wear, having 'tested' some toot or speed to help them drink more!!donna28 wrote:Can you tell me if new RM carry out drugs tests?
