Yep, I've resigned guys. Even my union rep suggested this as
he said we're basically fighting a losing battle. I've lost a
pretty decent job there to my total stupidity. There's one
thing though, it will give me the big kick up the backside
I need to actively pursue future employment.

If you had denied it from the outset, you had a chance. If you've admitted it then you're up s**t creek to be honest. Admitted Dishonesty. You can say that you've had personal problems, stress, felt manager was unapproachable etc and try save your job. I guy in my unit didnt take his - and said he was under pressure. Got sack and was reinstated on appeal. I'd fight it and see where it goes.

I know it's been going down the pan for a couple of years now
Meerkat, but it was still a wage coming in. It will only get
worse, that's true mate.
Like you say it will spur me on to do some training in
another field of work, and hopefully get back on track.

Think this is a bit harsh! The poor guy made a mistake and lost his job because of it no need to have a go at him in my opinion. Whats a few d2d compared to the constant thieving and scamming by RM management? And whats the difference between this guy and RMs attitude to d2d? I see tons of them being chucked away every week because RM cant be bothered to pay people to prep them.

To be fair - he came on here looking for advice.
He didn't ask for a smart arse comment.
He knows what he did was wrong. He has paid a very heavy price for it.
