Scan the item as not delivered before 1pm.

Then do as you wish after 1pm, you can still get a sig for it, and it won't show as a failure.

Even if it's your best mate asking for his mail, cover your back! Remember, you're on your own out there!
What has happened to making the customer happy, ours is a communication business we talk to our customers, i know about 75% of my rounds residents by name wheres the harm in helping them out. Honestly i feel saddened at how we are being penalised for doing the right thing and making peoples lives easier.

Managers just dont seem to realise this and treat every one from customers/staff even other managers with mistrust and accusations its all about profit over people and its wrong no wonder the public has lost faith in us.

I don't do my customers any favours anymore . The majority of these people aren't interested in our well being so why bother about them . They have and will turn a blind eye to mass RM job cuts , the attack on their postmans working conditions and RM being handed over to the vultures . They will probably gripe more about stamps going up five pence , than me or you losing our jobs . F*ck them just do your job the way Rm want you to do it .

I agree with you to a point there are many customers on my round that i detest and wont help out because they are pig ignorrant "what time do you call this" (still wearing a dressing gown themselves at 2pm) these people i do the job properly, but i like alot of the elderly residents they always look after me offering me coffee on a cold day or offering me a toilet break when i need one. I will always going to help them out by giving a parcel to a neighbor or try to double back and attempt a redelivery (if i have the time that is) i really dont care if my manager has a problem with it. they can all go whistle :whistle :whistle

One DIM told us to do this, NOT NOW it's disciplinary scan before 1pm no answer fine, then by scanning delivered after 1pm KNOCKS OFF the first scan and only the second one shows on system as a FAIL

No. That isn't what happens. Both show up. So as long as the first one is before 1pm, you are fine.

When the customer come to collect it from the callers office it's scanned again, so if it were true what you were told, every special would be a fail.

Missed the point here SF. Callers is different 'cos PDA is set to Indoor. I mean outdoor on delivery trying to beat the system. Scanning No Answer before 1pm 'cos you aint going to be there then getting customer to sign after 1pm knocks off first scan and shows as a FAIL. Believe me :hmmmm
