if this is the case, how come our office has taken on 3 new staff the past month and has just finished interviewing some more!! surely they wouldn't be given the all clear to employ more people with all this uncertainty

I can see management and mail centre staff and white collar workers losing their job, but what about postmen who deliver the post.

In their drive towards privatisation, RM management want to cut thousands of jobs but regulation means that, in Moya's own words, "sortation capacity" has increased. This is why we are all being asked to work twice as hard as 5 years ago and our pay has dropped in real terms.

It takes more than legislation to privatise a service and the plan to privatise Royal Mail behind the backs of the British public has not succeeded. The game is up and changing the regulator will not make any difference.
