jupiters cock, everyone should just do the job as set out, no cycle down gravel drives,no overweight bags, etc. just keep bringing the mail bag every day when time to finish.do this day after day, week after week. The managers soon buckle, and the old ways(early finish) come flooding back.If its all to much for some people ,just go off work with stress for 6 months. The more people rush and go back to office early the more they will find for you to do,pouch off, don't go back to office.fishtank wrote:...but it didn't...not everywhere anyway.drb wrote:Job and finish - that went out in 2007. Is it any wonder that RM is convinced they can get more bang for the buck?![]()

According to Royal Mail`s accounts only 117 delivery offices have had a methods revison out of 1321 delivery offices. So not all offices can feel shafted surely ?

the boys on full-time release dont wok any saturday, dont get bullied on a daily basis ,and dont have to deliver!
its just a case of dont rock the boat or we will take away your full-time release thats the problem with this union.
too many reps with a vested interest to agree to anything, as long as they can keep their nice cosy job :ncfo

Re: any other offices been shafted ? ? ? ?
Why is it only 117? I feel sure that if I was heading a RM project group I would be worried that in over 12 months that less than 10% of offices had moved forward in a 3 year plan subscribed to and agreed by the CWU members. It strikes me that it is yet another case of paying lip service to the agreement whilst carrying on regardless. How many £200 payments have been made for revisions which bear no relationship to the agreed delivery methods.dingo wrote:According to Royal Mail`s accounts only 117 delivery offices have had a methods revison out of 1321 delivery offices. i think a lot more offices have gone in on a "table top" or "self starter" revision of recent months. they are much the same with the exception of......
..... no vans, no weight off the shoulder, no 1 in 4 sats, no 75% FT, no lump sum. im sure there is more but you get my drift dingo, oh we did get the later starts though
i can only assume they are not included your figures?
does HQ ever speak to area or local reps?

Oh come on Dingo - its not just DM thats doing the shafting in delivery offices. How about:dingo wrote:According to Royal Mail`s accounts only 117 delivery offices have had a methods revison out of 1321 delivery offices. So not all offices can feel shafted surely ?
IWT.
Pegasus - Gio-route for non DM revisions.
Managerial B&H.
Aborsorbtion/Lapsing/Flexibility
Plus 3.5hr duties. (for P.O.S deliveries)
Later Starts.
Saturdays as normal Days.
Walk Sequencing
Reduction in FT staff locally (which leads onto the 75/25% split not being applied fairly, or if it is being monitored then the feed back to us erks is crap).
Of course you may not think that this is being "shafted" but people on the Delivery Floor certainly think it is.
Dont mention D2Ds/Delivery Supplement though that is a sore point for some.

Dingo i'm in one of those 117 offices that have had a methods revision, it's hasn't worked even though loads of staff still come in early and work through their break.dingo wrote:According to Royal Mail`s accounts only 117 delivery offices have had a methods revison out of 1321 delivery offices. The thing is everything was far from rosey before hand, thats why we voted to go out on strike the last time! members in the other 1204 offices might not have been shafted because of the agreement, but in large part the shafting they were recieving prior to the 2009 strikes from RM still stands and won't get any better, and most of them know it.
you asked earlier.
dingo wrote:Perhaps others on here can tell me what they want the union to fight on considering most on here say they would not support the CWU.
Seriously....that would make a world of diffrence, not to me because thats allready the way i deal with duties that i can't complete in time.belle smith wrote:i would like the Union to unilatrally tell RM and there members you we are not employed to manage the provision of the USO. The onus of managing workload lies with managers they must ask staff if they think they will complete on time, if not they must ask the OPG if they would like to work extended or what should be left. anything not completed on time can simply be taken back to the office without accusations of criminality or threats of disaplinery action!
Others start early or work through their breaks.
or work on as one of my colleagues who was being bullied by a manager today did.

WHere i work; job and finish and 'ghost ' overtime is the absolute norm. Re: any other offices been shafted ? ? ? ?
According to Royal Mail accounts there have been only 117 delivery methods revisions. In fact the accounts change the fact that the BTA 2110 agreement in so much in that there will be only 50% of offices who will have intregrated revisions by 2013.
Now I have never said that the delivery methods revisons have been succussful , a lot have been disaster and some are still are. I agree Belle that the tools should have been bottomed out. However I do question why some offices have agreed revisons when they know they will fail. I know a few might have been put under pressure by the area rep or some might have been attracted by the lump sums but not all have been.

They are where they are,the protection from Royal Mail or the CWU was not there to stop them getting in this mess, the union was warned that the protection was not there before the revisions started but all we heard was of this much vaunted revision process that either did not work in these cases or was not monitored at a high enough level.
It's a simple choice....we either choose to help them or we don't

Re: any other offices been shafted ? ? ? ?
I am very much interested to know what the score would be if an office was adamant that a revision wouldn't work.
In 2007 my lot threw a strop with ours, but i knew it would work and some of them were pulling a fast one(it was a major duty change, the 4 day week and some got the hump they lost their 2-30hrs ish walks),it needed to be jigged a bit in the end but only minor.
Now if i was adamant and other colleagues of mine (the non bullshitters) were as well that our 2010 one was pants, where would we stand?
There are only so many disagreements and processes we could go down.
Or would it be the case as i'm aware of happening of saying, agree it,take the lump sum and let RM sort the s**t out.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Every area walks seem to be differnt
Some are 3 hours 30 mins , 3 hours 50 mins.
All of our 30 rounds in our office are 4 hours 15 mins (timed by Pegasus but a lot longer )
Are anyone elses rounds that long after revision because if we dont get out to the 1st delivery loop by 9 am the rounds are not achievable in the time.
We are not getting out till 10 am so its impossible not to cut off.
Trolley are no good either as some loops have 2 bags and too many packets , steps are also a problem as well as security when in flats

Bottomed out? What do you mean by that?dingo wrote: I agree Belle that the tools should have been bottomed out.
Ignoring the tools for a moment, why can't the union inform Royal Mail that CWU members are NOT responsible for managing the provision of the USO, Royal Mail managers are! and they must take the decision for what gets taken and what gets left. Plus anything undeliverd at the end of the shift is simply returned to the office. None of this crap about if you take it out you must deliver it!
I question that too, in my office in my opinion it was mainly about the money, well that and "it will come in anyway."dingo wrote:However I do question why some offices have agreed revisons when they know they will fail. I also question why anyone voted for BTA nationally my opinion on that is it was mostly "it will come in antway."
