Just been suspended- devastated

I know of a member who dumped them at a local country park.
It wasn't hard to trace them to him as he had left the labels with the date and walk number on them.
Needless to say....he is no longer with us.

There is no hard and fast rule beyond it should only be a "reasonable" time.

You'll be suspended till they either dismiss you, decide that dismissal is not an option, or perhaps when they decide what punishment is applicable, or find that there is no case to answer.

There could be mitigation on this as members not performing their duty,(hoarding mail etc) displays their duty is impossible to complete and other major factors. Try these :

Are you a full time or part time. (If you are part time we all know that your hours are simply not enough,your door to doors should be prepped). If you are full time has your frame been designed for the 1/5th or 1/6th? Is your frame designed for door to door to be prepped "downwards" in 5 or six splits? How many contracts do you have normally?

What is your office like in general,(management attitude) when members cannot complete their duty? Very important point.

I've heard the only reason for being sacked rather than resigning first is to get benefits such as Job Seekers Allowance.

That would seem to make good sense if you've got a family to support,that and the fact that you would possibly hope to still keep your job no matter how slim the chances were!

Also,If what we're talking about here is dumping all/most of your d2d's because you're too lazy to do them,then i wouldn't have too much sympathy either,if it's about having a little excess at the end of your duty and having a bit of a brainstorm and binning them that would be a different matter....and yes of course both actions are wrong.

It's a mistake to put them in the recycling bin rather than tell the DOM you've not got the time to prepare or deliver them.
No excuse for doing that but it's hardly an isolated incident.

An isolated incident of dumping D2D he could'nt be bothered to deliver. What would other companies do such as Eddie Stobbart or DHL if people could'nt be bothered to deliver their goods. I think its the same thing. If supporting his family and actually have respect for Customers such as the Posting Customer who has paid R.M. up front for delivery of their adverts...Sorry we work dam hard to deliver these on top of the mail..No wonder Customers go else where...

i'm afraid you are toast ! at least you accept how stupid you have been .Resign if you can it will hopefully be recorded as resigning for "personal reasons".
