Re: lapsing
In our office, we are 6 weeks into the P&L revision, we are still leaving parts of the walks in.
You can see the honeymoon period is over between management and workers,
one guy told the DIM he was leaving some, the DIM quoted flexibility, he reminded the DIM
he had already worked past his time by an hour, earlier in the week!!

Re: lapsing
in our office we have had a tabletop revision and we were told summer lapsing was coming again, the union fought and at the moment we haven't had to do it. but people are still coming in early and some going over
and not booking. they will moan if they do try to get this in again

Re: lapsing
end of the second week of 'summer lapsing' and people are starting to cave in and do it now. Our DOM announced SATURDAY lapsing today and about 35% of our division took it
Its madness people would rather take MORE work go out in their cars and finish a little early then just take it easy and do less work. To be honest these are not the usual quiet unassertive types that are being bullied into either. To be fair even our linos seems to disagree with the whole thing and sheepishly ask if your doing lapsing and then quietly wondering off after being told to stick it!

Re: lapsing
Hows everyone elses summer lapsing going? Our DOM is majorly involved now and trying to force the issue! I had to say no 8 times to my lino today and there was others in the office with the union rep and managers all having a barny!
not good.... At what point does trying to save a few £££ become blatant B&H?!

Re: lapsing
Do you actually manage to finish your lapsing and walk within your time or are you also being pushed to take it out anyway?scooby wrote:we are lapsing 4 walks most rush out and do it before the miss sort van comes back at 9

Re: lapsing
They make us take ours out even if we say we have no time to do it,i have been doing mine and claiming OT recently but the other week i brought it back and got told off for being back 3 MINS too early. Some of our managers are quite cool about it though and dont pressure you but others are just the opposite.

Re: lapsing
Do you have a good union rep at your DO? Thats not right they cant make you take it out if you cant do it within your time! I know its not easy but you should resist if you can. It will only get worse if we let them get away with it!ewancurze wrote:They make us take ours out even if we say we have no time to do it,i have been doing mine and claiming OT recently but the other week i brought it back and got told off for being back 3 MINS too early. Some of our managers are quite cool about it though and dont pressure you but others are just the opposite.

Re: lapsing
It's getting bad in the DO George. Did you hear the poor bloke a couple of aisles down? Started shouting about how he couldn't do what was constantly being asked of him, hitting something, though apparently not the manager.... Someone went round and said he was sitting there, head down and hands over his eyes. Right at the end of his tether, the poor bloody sod.George door to dawes wrote:Hows everyone elses summer lapsing going? Our DOM is majorly involved now and trying to force the issue! Re: lapsing
This was right near the end, only a few of us left in the office. The union rep has really been earning his keep recently. Was in with DOM at least once today, with someone very unhappy about the lapsing. Gawd knows when he gets out to do his round.fishtank wrote:Where was your rep at the time?L8Hatter wrote:It's getting bad in the DO George. Did you hear the poor bloke a couple of aisles down? whats the alternative though? We all work for free when the managers see fit?L8Hatter wrote:This was right near the end, only a few of us left in the office. Re: lapsing
Well apparantly there was another person kicking off about lapsing today at our DOGeorge door to dawes wrote:Yeah i saw and spoke to him. Didnt hit anything though just threw a bundle of mail down! Did you see the lino though? Even bought another manager along to try to bully him into taking the lapsing after failing on his own the last few days and yet he stood strong!L8Hatter wrote:This was right near the end, only a few of us left in the office.
