Re: 40 hours down to 39
How about keep doing a 40hr week and every 8 weeks have a extra saturday off. Or add it to A/L and get about 6 extra days of A/L up the reserves and keep a few extra people in full time jobs . Could it work?

Cause it would work, but have we the managers capable of working it out, or would they rather drink coffee all day and do things the easy way?pop it in pete wrote:How about keep doing a 40hr week and every 8 weeks have a extra saturday off. Re: 40 hours down to 39
I have no idea how this s**t deal came to voted through!!
In my area the CWU Branch told its members to Vote No....no-one wants a later Saturday, but hey ho....what can we do?
Incidentally, if any member has childcare issues and has to pick their kids up from school/nursery etc., Royal Mail MUST legally accommodate that under the Equality Act 2010.
Get as much evidence as possible, make God knows how many copes (management will lose it), give some to your Union Rep, and Branch Equality Rep if there is one. Put in grievances attaching evidence for this.
Royal Mail thinks it can break the law. It can't.

Where exactly in the Equality Act does it say that?joshua wingate wrote: Incidentally, if any member has childcare issues and has to pick their kids up from school/nursery etc., Royal Mail MUST legally accommodate that under the Equality Act 2010.
They have an obligation to consider family friendly duties but no legal obligation to provide them.

They have to as PTimers get a 2.5% pay rise to cover the 1hr loss to FT (who remain on same weekly wage) If they don't hit the gates.flaminmoses wrote:ok taclashcityrocker wrote:When you have a Walk Sequenced Mail Revision.

WOW!
A whole hour knocked off what can only be described as a Hellish 40hr slog.
The CWU, they spoil us, they really do.

Re: 40 hours down to 39
Is it not illegal for RM to have only some staff changed from 40 hours to 39 hours per week.
I read the agreement and it states that everyone on 40 hours will go to 39 once they have
had a major revision. Unfortunately, RM are now cancelling some of the revisions through
lack of money or a realisation that hours are needing put in.
This means that some members will not get down to 39 hours because of RM whereas others
are now on 39 hours. Is that not illegal and can the members still on 40 hours claim an hours ot every week

The time has come to stop turning the other cheek, time to stop shaking our heads in bitter dismay, time to stop mumbling our angry words.
The time has come for union.
