Good Luck mate. Makes you wonder makes some Council Refuse Collector worry about what he finds in his bins, unless it's a dead body or something serious. FFS what did he do run off to his boss with a handful of D2Ds?

Our managers are throwing 1000's of D2D's in a skip each week, they won't put them in the recycling bins because they know they get segged at a processing plant rather than going straight to the incinerator. Typical one rule for one and one for another in RM.

Since d2d got put into workload,they are no longer viewed as leaflets/junk mail,and are classed as "live mail".Therefore they will view it the same as binning a load of stamped/addressed mail.As alreadly said,hope for the best,but expect the worst.Sorry,and goodluck!

My question is 'Why would you dump them?'
Maybe if all the stories about people dumping/not doing D2Ds where posted up in the DOs then we really would stop hearing them.

Don't post any more information about it on here! Your union rep should be able to give or get the best advice for you,if you've just had excess on your delivery and have discarded it,rather than take it back you might have a chance,if it's d2d you should have been delivering but chose not to...........

The amount of d2d's not delivered is making RM panick in case it gets out to the media,loads being returned to Mail Centres,customers making complaints of no response for areas they have paid to have d2d's delivered,its my guess rm will want to make an example and spread the word via wtl that a postie has been dismissed for binning d2d's hoping it'll frighten the rest in to delivering theirs.All d2d's are part of the workload now and is paid whatever,no one likes the deal with regard to d2d's,but the deal is the deal.

I think you are done for unless the ADR is related to Perry Mason,i sincerely hope i am wrong..............

If they were extra D2D that you were suprluss then you should be able to get away with a slapped wrist. If you haven't delivered what you were supposed to then use your few weeks of suspension on full pay to find another job. The best you can do is drag it out as long as possible.

Unless the sticker was still on them how the hell did the council workers know where it came from, I can't see how they can prove anything unless there marked in some way, They could of been dumped by any leaflet distributor etc..

...but they have suspended him...and he admits in his first post that he did it so...they didn't just pick him at random did they?
They have already tied the D2D to him....therefore they already have all the "proof" that they need

I do know dom's at some of the D/O's are marking d2d's with ultra violet pens,proberly marked with walk name/number then if any are found dumped in bins or yorks at d/o's if it has been marked the ultra violet torch will pick it up.It goes to without saying not every single d2d is marked,the dom or line manager goes through peoples d2d's and marks at random.

I know they are a real PITA to do,but its not worth looseing your job over them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Might not be even marked - they could have suspected he was doing it already, or about to do it. Followed him and observed the "dumping" - now as there could be a legal question over access to the recycling bin they may have asked the local council to retrieve and use as evidence. Or if it was a public recycling bin and its been going on a while the council may have been asked to keep an eye out for dumping D2Ds on the CCTV. There are regrettably many ways people dumping D2Ds can be caught. I even heard of someone shredding them and still being caught.
