POSTAL services in Barnsley are set to change as the Royal Mail reorganises delivery routes in the area.


Postmen will now deliver letters and parcels in Wombwell for a longer period during the day - which means some customers may receive their post later - and Royal Mail is also investing in new equipment to help workers carry heavier items.

The company is introducing the changes in order to modernise, maintain services and keep costs low as they work to deliver an increased number of heavier items purchased over the internet.

Many customers will continue to get their mail by lunchtime, and the changes will take several weeks to implement, the firm said.
