Seven months down the line into the new way of working and still the union are letting this one slip under their fingers. Not once at WTL have i seen the rep support against the BSI being at 100. Either they don't want to talk about it or its just another case of deaf ears and lets just do what the management do best in moving the goal posts and making rules as they go along.

This is a national problem and not a local one, but why is it taking so long to come to some agreement. Personally alot more should of been added to the agreement before the union and the RM shown the agreement to its members. So many grey areas, and so many rules changing from day to day, its hard to know what RM want from us now.

dingo wrote:For the record there is nothing in the BTA National Agreement which commits any office to performing at 100BSI. The CWU has said on countless occasions there is no agreement to 100BSI.

Of course planners will try and get you to go to 100BSI they are being told to by their operational managers. They may quote upper decile but we have not agreed the criteria for what would be upper decile and the realitiy is the upper decile mantra does not compare offices on a like for like basis regardless if your a metro office , town , rural or even a surburban office.

Geo route default postion is 100 BSi but we all know we dont accept the first proposal out of geo route or for that matter IWT.

So the union has not agreed and it is not in the BTA agreement so the answer to the thread is no.
Funny was talking/arguing with my rep today, but he was saying that we had to get to 100bsi thats whats in the agreement , this is what our area rep told him.

Funny thing is belle...i seem to remember the same..."It's a journey"..bollocks..."takes 3 years"...blah,blah "starting with XBSI and progressing towards 100BSI"..."We have nothing to fear from BSI"..."Most of British industry works at 100BSI ;liar "
Any of that ring a bell with anyone? :cuppa

FT

In my Area there is no agreement on 100 Bsi, Not from Area or Div. Just an agreement to look and see if you can make a reasonable step change say 5 to 10%.
We have DSM's trying it on but so far ( In my Office and other local Offices where i know the Reps ) none of us have made moves to get to 100 Bsi.

I need to add to the above that we ran IWT in my Office and we are running now at about 115% Bsi, on the new Model Wk and this is in the so called Quite Period. I put this down to the fact we are under staffed !
Well i had a meeting today, (and with the help and support of my AR and Div Reps who are Both Good People ) with the DSM and my Manager ( They wanted 80 Hrs out of the office ) and the end result,
after what seemed like days of arguing back and forth, was that the DSM agreed to look at following the stoke agreement in principle and fully resource our office, so we now have to await his answer.
Now we have informed him we have 3 FT and 2 PT Vacancies and he has agreed that we can ( on rolling 3 Month Contracts ) Move PT who what to go FT up and recruit against their Hours.
When we have done this we will then look and see what our BSI looks like and go from there, but as i have said if we are running at 85 / 90% after, then there will be no savings to be made,
But i will wait till then for that argument to come around which it undoubtedly will. :wave

Our office, local rep, dep rep opposed and opposed under VALID H and S concerns, welfare concerns, feasibility concerns etc.

Area and Div reps signed off the revision over our heads.

That's why the whole deal, and what was or wasn't agreed was irrelevant in our office.
Has there been no change in the area and div reps
attitude since the recent developments in Royal Mail and the CWU mailmonkey?

Even if we all reached 100BSi they'd then want 110BSI.

Can someone from RM or the CWU please show us the BSI figures for all offices
It is my understanding that we only have to reach the upper 10% decile of what offices are currently achieving nationally
Until they show these figures we should not agree anything
Most are achieving well below 100BSI from what I can gather (talking to other offices)

Yes managers prepping frames and carrying out OPG'S work, people coming in early ect, all give a false impression of how well offices
are preforming

Managers are just out to screw us all

We're at disagreement,as an area, over Royal Mail attempting to use an EP of 107 for self starters/Tabletops as they're not getting enough savings.

Goalposts moving constantly, and as someone said, they'll always want more. We're not discussing revisions/savings until we start to see some benefits. :so there

As far as i was aware offices guilty of bad practice were not supposed to be used when calculating the top 10%.
Of course the question as always is....who's monitoring the information?
Will managers fess up that their office is cheating?...will reps?...if the office has a rep? :cuppa

I am glad it's not just me,our office has gone into this 100 BSI and now we have had our revision kicked out for the 3rd time we are back to the drawing board, today i have had a planner and 2 managers tell me about 100 BSI and how staff are not pulling their weight so i have asked the question how do you know?most of you make up the rules as you go and have no real facts to base your argument on! I find myself getting more and more frustrated because the goal post is being moved all the time so i go back in tomorrow to try and nail the planner and managers down to try for a fair work load,P.S i dont think i will get it but i can always hope!
