Did the talks just concern London's problems ?

That all depends on what subject the CWU asked RML to discusss. If it was simply to discuss the MC closure issues then the CWU bods and RML bods nesscary to discuss other issues would not have been at the talks I presume.

here we go again,if the talks are just regarding the London mail center people issue and
after two weeks that issue is resolved and then it all goes quiet on the other issues then
you know what the response on here will be,but im sure Dingo will confirm that wont be the case?

If I may interject - there may be 2 discussions ongoing at the moment.

There will be a regional one which will involve London CWU and London management and that will of course relate just to London problems/issues. In Dingo we have a good source of information and thats why we keeping hearing about their issues on here. Long may it continue.

There will also, hopefully :pray , be a series of National Talks going on and that will involve both HQs - Unfortunately despite our best efforts  we don't have a source there and we have to rely on the official communication channels.

Royal Mail have agreed further National Talks on London and colleague share and a possible review of the BTA agreement which are due to take place Wednesday and Thursday with the assistance of Roger Poole and Peter Harwood from ACAS. Royal Mail will have to offer new thinking and a change to their plan if a dispute is not going to happen.

There is no hiding place now for anyone. Its will be a critical week for both Royal Mail and the CWU.

The talks over the last 3 days have been on London and will continue next week. However Royal Mail want also to resolve the national issues and these talks will be taking place parallel to the London Mail Centre talks.

Thank you for the update Dingo, much appreciated,a tense time for all involved in mail centre closures. My office(Watford)is on the hit list, have had my first one2one as have all the staff involved in the closure, but we have yet to learn what the outcome of the one2one's are,i opted for the new Northen Home counties mail centre at Hemel. We are supposed to have another one2one to inform us of our shift allocation, but things seemed to of slowed up some what at the moment, its reported the migration will start in July/August so some news from RM/CWU would be nice.

In which only 54% of members voted... :whistle
The main reason for a lower return was the short time span involved. Ballot papers were sent out on Friday 13 May.
Most members recieved them on Saturday 14 or Monday 16 May. The Ballot closed at 0900 on Monday 23 May.
So members only had 5 or 6 days to return them. Usually a ballot would run for 3 weeks.
I'm guessing this one was conducted quickly so that there would be a result in time for the start of CWU Conference on 23 May,
so that delegates from all Postal Branches could decide on national support. And also as RM were proposing to start moving work on 6 June.
its a fact that most people eligible to vote in any postal ballot do so within 3 days.

People couldnt be arsed to vote cause they know CWU are full of s*** and lie to their members
Any c*** that did not vote clearly don't care so hand your f***ing card in or leave the job if it's that bad getting sick and tired of w*****s talking s**t on this forum either put up or shut up

And the union immediately loses 46% of it's membership strength in the affected units.
Not very clever.

We may not like the apathy in the union but they are still paying members and if nothing else...the union needs their cash.

Is the any news on how the talks are going,i understand they are due to conclude Monday.Just wondering if any sort of deal is on the horizon,IF no headway has been made, does that mean on Tuesday RM will carry out their threat of moving mail out of the doomed mail centres by Executive Action?

Some progress has been made, talks have been extended to Friday 17th June, during this time there will be no notice of strike action, however the ballot remains valid.

...and in the meantime what of the national issues?
Any progress with with those?
Where is "the biggest consultation with the membership in the union's history"? :cuppa
