Re: 1st day on my own absolute NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You've been with RM for how long??
Seems to me for about 2 weeks.
In a previous post you stated you'd already done the worst walk in the office.
So this is on you delivery on your own for the first time, how???
You should think yourself lucky in most offices around the country the poor sods get 3/5days training and are kicked out alone.
To me it seems to be your quite the attention seeker.
And for the record, you've no chance of getting a driving duty ever!!

Re: 1st day on my own absolute NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Found it interesting reading all this lads posts as he has gone through the application process and now ended up doing the job. I assume he passed the online test, followed by the psychometric test and then the interview with the uninterested DOM reading off his crib sheet ! I cant help thinking (and no offence to the lad himself) that any HR bod reading his posts might reach the conclusion there is a fatal flaw in the application process somewhere along the line !! Still, RM spent thousands no doubt implementing this hit and miss recruiting system and they are probably stuck with it....If you are reading this HR bod then the advice from this lowly part time pond life postie would be to work on a proper induction and on the job training programme with a probationary period and a a permanent job at the end of it,,,,You know it makes sense,,,crockboy wrote:You've been with RM for how long??

And for the record, you've no chance of getting a driving duty ever!!,,,,Oh, hold on, that would mean scrapping three month contracts, raising the morale of the work force, losing the stick of the sack to beat someone with and having a more efficient and dedicated staff...That would never work would it...

Re: 1st day on my own absolute NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm fairly new to the job, started near the end of last year.I got a day's induction. That was fine. This was followed up by what was described as training for 2 days and then it was out on my own and fend for yourself.I couldn't believe how bad the training was.Even though I was new to the job,I could tell that I wasn't being shown how to do the job properly. From my point of view there was no proper training and it's just been a case of using common sense and picking things up as you go a long.

If your due overtime make sure you see it written on the OT sheet. Add your pay number and sign it or you might as well get used to working for free! Its safe to assume that ALL linos are thieving scum and will try to screw you over if you dont watch them like a hawk.
