Fingers crossed :)
Followed your Revision report with interest. :Applause We're going through the Re-sign stage at present. Reason I've highlighted the above is because we've got some PTers who have the Opportunity to go FT. :Very Happy Problem is we've been told they're only Temporary Contracts for the moment. Union says they're 99.9% sure to Remain in place, BUT Management is spreading Doom N Gloom. Quoting that these guys may "Loose" these duties if (after the area revision) our office has to provide FT Duties to anyone whose been unlucky to be made "Surplus to Requirements" at nearby DOs!

Has your DO had any experience of this problem. Management are implying that if these guys "Loose" their FT Temp Duty they may not simply "Slide" back down to PT in our DO but may well have to move to another DO on their Original Contracted Hours!
Any thoughts? :hmmmm

Hmmmm we haven't had any staff movement between DO's as far as I know and several in the area did their revisions before us. Our DOM insists that duties were planned to keep staff - not to lose them, and his announcement to assembly on saturday before we left was that the PT's involved had filled FT vacancies. Hope your revision works out okay Dorset, this will be about the 5th I've endured over the years and has taken as long to implement as all the others put together lol

I can only ever remember one instance of someone filling a full time vacancy on a transfer and he was a long service FT anyways and turned out to be a damn good bloke (apart from his singing which is terrible).

Cheers Rhino, thanks for the info. I have a feeling that the DIM wanted "others" to get the FT vacancies..if you know what I mean. And because those "others" didn't get the FT vacancies he was just trying to stir the s**t and put some frighteners in. Apparently it had that effect. :no no

For example one guy on a 22.5 hr contract had the opportunity to go for a 39 hr contract. DIM convinced him it would be "safer" to just go for the 24hr Duty! That "F" word is rearing it's ugly head again! :no no

At every stage and in every office where this is failing we see managers who are trying to gain advantage instead of working with staff to create a better company and working environment. At least our DOM and Line Manager are cooperative and helpful even if we have to apply a bit of pressure to get compliance. We have given way on things but so have they and the result so far is a better than average revision. The whole culture behind RM's attitude to it's greatest asset - experienced staff - has to change to ensure any degree of progress for all involved.
