We've got a book with all the hols in,we have a shuftie at that 1st.
You've got more chance of a bj off the pope than to get a Sat off.
But i usually ask for stuff like that when the DIMS not busy so he can tell me straight away.
If not i just badger him every chance i get.
They seem to get upset when you ask for an odd day

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

This is what you should all do (especially if late starts come in): Make sure your sick record is good. Then, if you need a Saturday off, just take it. Don't bother mentioning it and highlighting it to the screws, just take the day off. Of course it will create a big difficulty for them. They will have to pay you sick pay, they will have to pay someone to cover your duty and they will still owe you a days leave, but if they can't manage a situation they are paid to, that's their fault, not yours. Of course it's not the way I like to do things as I've always prefered the honest approach, but what can you do when the job is run by idiots? If you're on a five day week, that works out at six Saturdays off a year. If you're careful you can have another two or three without even triggering a stage.

Naughty BOY !

Post by deadbox »

Jafferpants....You naughty boy......Just think of the POOR SCREWS having to cover that DUTY !

If We ALL had your attatude and had 6 DAYS OFF instead of STRIKING ( like the prison officers do ! ) where would RM be then , eh ?

RM would be unhappy

And that would have 10X the effect of striking

LOL

I would never have agreed with you at one time, but they way the job is run these days, it's entirely understandable and I don't blame anyone for thinking like this.

it's a risky play to make..especially the way things are at present with stage warnings being issued like sweeties..we'll have to make sure wer'e well within our allotted trigger if anyone is to try it..stating the obvious i know....
