Agree 100% - But just to make it funnier the Union think that BT2010 was the best deal they could do at the time, but are bemused that we don't agree. Thats what you get when you have a secrecy clause, the people you represent have nothing to measure the alleged "gains" against.

Talking to my union rep about increased d2ds and he was insisting
the union had made the best of that deal!
by "securing the monies and getting them into pay"
I told him to think again that i was delivering 3000 leaflets for what equates to about half a pence
each. and probably looking at an rsi injury from an extra 3000 prep repetitions
on top of my normal mail.

is there ANYONE on here who thinks as i do, in that the vote for the last agreement was rigged/fiddled. all of the delivery staff outnumber the rest by 2-1. does anybody on here think d.o. staff wouldve voted for that pile of wank. EVERY delivery postie i know voted no. is there actually any d.o. staff on here voted yes, and if so why?

What you mean is EVERY delivery postie i know said they voted no.
Members were always voting no right up to the point where they voted yes and then they will swear they voted no.
Does it surprise you that no one will admit to it?

it would certainly surprise me if d.o. had actually voted yes at all. can you think why a delivery postie would vote yes to that garbage. i cannot for the life of me, see ANY footstaff voting for it, hence my scepticism of the result.

Most of them didn't know how bad it was.
They relied on the summary and DVD sent to their home address which highlighted the few good points, brushed over the many bad points and ended with a "no plan b".
They followed the recommendation of the union and i don't knock them for that...it's what they are supposed to do.
It was the deal that was flawed, not the members acceptance of it although as usual when things go tits up the authors of the disaster like to point anywhere else but at the mirror.

doesnt matter about papering over the cracks where the bad points were concerned, there was a point in that agreement that couldnt be covered up or misunderstood, and that was the d2d part of it. that alone shouldve put a no vote from all d.o staff on its own.

They were promised it would save jobs.
They were promised they would get time to prep it.
They were promised delivery methods to carry it.
They were told RM were going to remove the payments anyway.
They were told that it would increase the call rate and therefore shorten delivery spans.
They were told it would all go in a sleeve.
They were told that £20.60 is better than what you will end up with ...feck all.
Have i covered it up enough yet?

Ive posted this before.
In our delivery office we told by our union rep that the advice from
hq was to support the agreement.
he then went on to say that personally he was voting against it !
as he thought it was full of holes. but nevertheless was duty bound to pass on the cwu advice.
is it any wonder that so many outdoor didnt vote with conflicting advice..
even the union seemed to be split .
its true that we outnumber indoor staff but was it the promises of no compulsory redundancies
in mc closures and a delivery supplement ? that caused more indoor staff to vote yes.
in my opinion.
ironical thousands didnt vote! both mc and outdoor!enough to change the vote.
if only they had been given all the facts .

The consitution of the CWU means we are split on proposed agreements before they are even made. Branches are free to make thier own recommendations to their branch members and are free to to recommend the opposite from HQ. I imagine a lot of branches thier D.O reps outnumber processing and distribution combined so when recommending to mbrs to accept the aggrement its the delivery reps that are swinging the vote in favour of recommendation.

In terms of the DS are you saying CWU members working in processing and distiribution thought they would be paid the delivery supplement?

In our MC some of the REPS were making it plain to staff that they would'nt
be getting the delivery supplement(and why should we) but i think it was
simply the lure of the lump sum that made a lot of people vote yes in MCs
between that and the fact that an awful lot of MC staff have not worked
on delivery and know or care very little about our outdoor colleagues
and the job of actually delivering the mail and that suits RM to a tee
the old divide an conquer routine, that and the F..k you Jack i'm alright
now gimme the money mentallity has got us into this position
