At our office this morning, we had one f/t guy work his day off.
Instead of working for the full 8 hours pay, he made a deal with the DOM, where he was going to work the full duty, but for 7 hours pay, and exclusion from IPS.
Is this right ?
Opinions are greatly appreciated ?

Controversial POSTMAN!
One doing a deal and others not getting it is gonna cause resentment and possible rows.
The norm is 6hrs and no ips.
In all fairness NO blue shirt should be doing it as RM are getting away with murder as it's not aggreed with the CWU it's just been implemented.
People on here are moaning about later starts, summer savings and the like being put in by exec action, why is this any different.
You're being stitched up,and you're letting them get away with it by doing it.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Don't be offended as mrlv this is not directed at YOU.
We are (were)on strike because of various stuff being implemented by RM.
Later starts, you are now coming in later so you are not entitled to the early shift allowance,so if you compare that up with the ot change i'm presuming that's ok then as you now don't have to come in early!
So why are we striking!
You now have more time in the summer as the walks are lighter so as you are getting payed 8hrs you can now do 6 into 5.
So why are we striking!
All newbies are now on 30/20 even less hrs but it's ok as they get payed for what hours they work.
So why are we striking!
People are screwing on here and are ready to lose serious money because of what the business are doing to us.
So can anybody tell me,with RM TELLING us without any agreement that our OT is now cut,and any of the above or all the other stuff going on,what's the difference.

Re: Working Days Off
Most offices run on 6hr overtime on day off cover however if you office runs on 8 hours for day off cover all this guy is doing is putting ideas in the managers head (as you know they cant think for themselves) it may very soon become the norm in your office.Cybitech wrote:At our office this morning, we had one f/t guy work his day off.

in our office it used to be that you didnt do sorting.
however too many were complaining and with less staff at the primary it was decided working a day off was just a normal day for your 8 hours pay.
however lat saturday a guy came in late on his day off.didnt do sorting and was up and out early.
im on holiday just now but i expect that will have thrown a spanner in the works
