Well.....the renegotiation of the attendance procedure must be going well Dan if stage 3's are now seen as a potential cost cutting exercise....Danelectro wrote:potential stage 3's-f***ing charming lot are they not, hardly surprising but the wording suggests a witch hunt.
I dread to think what any new attendance procedure might look like...
"We have managed to remove the threat of stage 3's by allowing dismissal at stage 2."
It sounds like another deal of the century.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Well as per usual the people writing these missives have little or no idea how a DO runs................so without taking it too literally, the line manager would be trusted to negotiate with the postie by the DOM because as you say our office has over 100 as well. Then when the s**t hits the fan he just blames the line manager.....telling his boss he is going to take control.........knowing full well he isn't.......what he will do is talk to the line manager to squeeze nutsGeorge door to dawes wrote:As others have said this does explain some extra OT squeezing that has been going on recently. Would like to point out this part
Personally that seems like an example of RM trying to build systems to intimidate people. We have 100+ posties in my DO are we all supposed to individually see the DOM before we go out? How the hell is that supposed to work? And how are you supposed to know exactly how much you are going to go over in a day?Does the DOM authorise all overtime
A shocking read....

No but heres the thing in our DO we have a new OT proceedure which is.... we have to inform the DOM or acting DOM if we are going to go over! Line managers are no longer allowed to sign off on extended deliveries and the DOM practically tells you to f-off. So yeah dont read between the lines with these documents there doesnt seem to be common sense approach in RM anymore.dvbuk55 wrote:Well as per usual the people writing these missives have little or no idea how a DO runs................so without taking it too literally, the line manager would be trusted to negotiate with the postie by the DOM because as you say our office has over 100 as well. Re: "Business as usual plan 2011"
I have seen the plan I think it orginated from the North East and I do believe it has been used at some offices in the Thames Valley.
The Plan talks about the first twelve weeks of Royal Mail`s financial year we are currently in week 7 and I have not had any reports it happening in the offices I cover and I was at a meeting of other reps today and no - one raised it.
The plan is unacceptable and needs to be stopped. The fact is that if managers get away with this plan in one area and make savings then it will become the benchmark for other areas.
However this is not the new business plan which has been agreed with the government and Royal Mail. Believe me its much worse and totally unacceptable. Hence the emergency motion next week at the CWU conference.

Not at all woofwoof, it's the conference next week so they will be waiting to see what they are told to say before they say it.woofwoof wrote:i assumed you was allBig Daz wrote:woofwoof wrote:it seeems strange dingo ,postman and tb or bigd havent had anything to say on this
