Found keys in the door of a pensioners bungalow, not an uncommon occcurence, knocked, opened the door and shouted, went round the back, no reply and no-one in sight. Gave the keys to a neighbour and next time i saw her she tells me the old guy had gone livid saying that she should leave his door as he left it as it was intended for the guys who do his garden to get access. Trusts no-one to pinch his keys but doesnt trust his neighbours and postie's concerns.

i found a drivers license about 3 years back... wasnt even for the area i worked in... was for down on the south coast....
i took it into the office the next morning, handed it to the PHG... who then wrote a letter and posted the license to the listed "owner" advising that one of us found it ...
mind you, nothing to say that the address on the license was still the owners home address.
not sure what i would have done if i had found an envelope full of cash
