I expect most of you here have at one point or another had to suffer working alongside someone to whom personal hygeine is a strange and foreign country. The worst one I ever came across was an Australian (the only Aussie I've ever met who I didn't like) who made your eyes sting every time he waddled past - can't even begin to describe the smell but I've honestly smelt top-deck-of-the-bus-clearing tramps who were kinder on the nose. Words with the manager AND to his face made no difference, but thankfully he transfered to another office. Of course, personality goes a long way and there's two blokes at our place who could definitely use a bath a bit more often, but in those cases you don't mind so much. However, we do have a SCAB (appropriately enough - even the visually impaired can hate him) at our place who stinks like a two week hostage situation on the hot tarmac at heathrow, but hardly anyone will talk to the guy and I can't see our manager wanting to get involved. I'm totally opposed to bullying in any form (and not talking to someone isn't bullying as I see it) but he's getting worse. Any suggestions? Failing that, any other anecdotes about smellies in the workplace.
How do you say TAKE A F****** BATH YOU STINKING B***** in a diplomatic way?

We,ve got 1 and he always drags himself to me, he stinks like a rotten hamster, but always makes a bee-line for me asking for spare bags etc, but its not just the smell that does my head in, every time he speaks to me is always when he is shoving a meat and potato pastie down his chops which he insists on spitting at me every time he opens his mouth !!!

funnily enough our "head scab" is a filthy skunk too,his blue shirt is more yellow than blue,he does a rural and the mud on his trousers is dirty, let alone the actual trousers and my god his teeth....More shades of yellow turning subtle shades of brown into a solid black at the base, just as well i don't speak to him any more as my chances of keeping down my breakfast are greatly increased nowadays..as for your question i love my job..i find "Oi you mingin pikey scum!!" how about a bath!!!..never was one for subtlety....

had a chat with our H+S rep and we both went in to ask the dom if he could have a discreat word in his ear

his reply was on the next strike day he have a word as there wont be many guys about

Can't say whether strike breakers smell in my office as I am proud to say we were 100% out in all the strikes!! :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause There were two old guys now retired that used to hum a bit, one's trousers were shiny 'cos so much muck was ingrained into them. When they got their long service awards I thought their shirts should have got an award too for long service in arduous conditions, expect they could stand up on their own when they removed them

smelly bastards

Post by dongash »

we have a smelly bastard at our place. he is not a scab though!!! he comes in early, wears his fleece in summer and indoors! he can make you feel sick just walking past you! he eats various bits of offal at 5.30 in the morning! he runs around like a twat and there are always complaints about misdeliveries etc. whenever you see him out of work he is always in some part of his post uniform (usually the fleece!!) and riding his post bike! some say he struggles with his reading and writing! i think he suffers more from an aversion to soap and water!!! all in all an ideal candidate for management training!!!!!

Try attaching one of these to your smelly posties lol.

I know what you mean, it's really bad when you end up working beside someone who is smelly. I have plently in my mail centre, nothing gets done about it, they just get slagged rotten behind their back.
