ask for an opt out of Labour

IWW FELLOW WORKER- RE YOUR POINT HAYES SHOULD HAVE ASKED THE MEMBERSHIP IF THEY WANTED TO PAY MONEY TO LABOUR. HE DID, VOTING PAPERS WERE SENT TO EVERY MEMBER AND THE VOTE WAS TO KEEP PAYING THE LEVY

I've sent an email to info@cwu.org that goes like this:

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have recently been made aware that I can opt-out of paying the political (Labour) funding through my CWU subs.
I note however that to do so I would have to ask my rep for the relevant form. In these days of online technology, may I ask why this form is not available to download as a .pdf or .doc file from the members section of the CWU site, so that members who like myself who are very unhappy at the present stance of the Labour Party can withdraw their funding without having first getting the form from their rep. I would appreciate very much if you could have this matter resolved and that a section on the site will have the relevant information and forms.

I'll let you know of the reply, or perhaps you people can send a similar mail. My point is there should be a form available in the membership side of the CWU site!!!

Good one mate! Of couse the ideal thing would be to return to having the opt out box to tick on the membership form, but they removed that and make no mention of it on the new forms. Very suspicious!

Unions and goverments over the years have argued many times over the years over the political levy. Unions are determined it should be opt out, Conservative goverments have tried to make it opt in.

Has anyone ever seen one of these forms? I have repeatedly asked my rep for one but to no avail, The request gets passed down the line but never comes back.
Could anyone who has one scan it and post it here for copying?

WE HAVE THE FORMS AT WORK. WILL GET ONE TOMORROW AND SCAN ON TO THE SITE FOR ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED.

If any party was serious about promoting representative democracy they would propose an act limiting all donations to personal ones with a limit of say Â£50 per annum. Anyone found guilty of distributing cash in return for proxy donations would be subject to immediate sequestraton of all their assets. Work for your money or starve ,if it's good enough for us......
