DOM decreed that we would lapse today, as this was really a Tuesday in terms of mail volume (We only lapse on Monday and Tuesday). Still had an 85% call rate (thanks Vision Express) and a shed loads of packets, including a new high/low of 18 recordeds.

Any time anyone has complained recently about going over, we're told that we'll make the time up in the summer. Feel a bit sorry for the lino tbh, as he has to pretend to believe this. I guarantee we'll just end up lapsing even more to make up for the staff shortages.

Still, lovely day, and I'll always be thankful I'm not on one of those Wednesday to Saturday contracts. Bar a couple, they were all told to stay at home today, presumably without pay?

Not as s**t as yesterday.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Nightmare. From leaving the office to getting back.... 6 hrs. Packets everywhere. 4 walk sequenced boxes and about another 3 or 4 manual flats. Not to mention the manual letters, about another 2 boxes full. Apparently it wasn't that bad yesterday.... my day off. :arrrghhh

Day off and grateful for it. I used to work my day off regularly before the revision - now I look forward to the rest day and my quality of life is so much better.

Packets were bad at our place, but because I'm on a tiddler of a walk at 300-odd houses, I only had one packet bag. There's only so many packets you can get to a certain number of houses, after all. I'm hoping next week everything will have calmed down a little and we'll finally be able to adjust to normality. Mail-wise, today wasn't great either.

Our system been in place two weeks now and broke off every day. Left three loops today and yet another battle in the managers office involving me, my share buddy and the union. Managers say that we are not performing to the speed required. We even dumped the trolleys today so we could go quicker with a bag on our shoulders, left three loops as i said and only just finished on time. Out the door at 11am. They must think we were born yesterday, trying to tell us that the job can be done in the time given. No wonder our office has a morale level of zero.

bradley, the trolleys are there to be used mate.

if your duties are too big then ask your manager to test them if he is getting arsey about it.

just do the job properly or you will only be storing up more trouble for the future.

FRECKING HELL !!!!!   PACKETS CITY

This is getting silly now. We went onto the ips and within 10 mins they were calling me (an everyone else) to empty my packet bag. It was a foot and half over spilled  So i took the top stack off and returned to drag it around to my frame thinking that would be it. We finished the ips an i took a glance over only to see it stacked again

I though this must be a joke with old d2d boxes shoved in or something but NO it was totally full again

When i got round to tipping them there was very little i could throw out as it was all small jiffies or amazon. I think everyone's gone bonkers and hit the internet shopping really hard. Its just like Crimbo :Boo hoo!

Packet city here too :(
Don't drivers really take the pith.... if they don't fit in your bag you get sooo much hassle, maybe they should try carrying them well overweight & spewing all over the place...
