Post box inserts.

Post by POSTMAN »

Was told today by weasel that the union agreed a long time ago that we are allowed to use the inside of a post box as a pouch box.
There was a discussion today on lack of pouch boxs when he said it.
I use inserts on a couple of my walks for my benefit and if it all kicks off down my way i don't want to use them, tbh it's a pain getting the mail out of them anyway.
But i don't wanna get my arse kicked if i refuse to use them,a Romec guy did tell me once we aren't supposed to use them.
There must be a security issue useing them and also H and S.
Any ideas?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We had them put in a few years back but pouch boxes replaced them before we started useing them ,thing is there just not practical postman .They are miles to small and no good what so ever so i would not worry about it at all its your managers problem now ,use a trolley and have a bag drop even if he has to bring them out to you ,not your fault if tools for the job are not provided.

just call in and say you have cut your hand on all that sharp metal or broken plastic that is usually on the inside of these things and you wont have to use it again, any old diy or gardening cut will do the job for evidence
