I can't believe they all did Daz....that is stretching credibility well past breaking point.
If they truly believed it was such a good deal why did they feel the need to sell it in the manner they did?
Why did they feel the need not to supply the members with a copy?
If it was that good it would have sold itself,if it was that good we wouldn't be where we are right now.

It is like someone who cheats on their partner, once they have done it they will continue to do it.

Just my perspective but at the "roadshow" I attended I didnt see it as selling but as explaining what the proposed agreement is and why it is, what it is. That I belive should happen with EVERY agreement from now to all enternity.

Only if it's a balanced "warts and all" explanation Daz...
...and it wasn't....the warts were very much underplayed and in some cases ignored completely.

Well i'm fortunate to be in an area where the reps gave a 'warts and all' explanation.
The upshot of that was the reps telling us they couldn't recommend the agreement, and we ended up being one of only a few areas that recommended a no vote. They also went to great lengths to ensure we all had a copy of the proposal.
I'm of the opinion that if other area reps had the same information that we had, a lot more of the workforce would have voted against this, as long as that information was passed along ..........

There was a vote in our area after the roadshow where individual unit reps voted against the agreement - the area and div reps threw a wobbler and did not support the vote because it was against the CWUs wishes despite the fact that it was clearly detrimental to delivery officers and especially to part timers.
You must then wonder at the organisation of the branch when it does not support the will of that branch membership.

And there is the major flaw in the "we are the union" bollocks that is wheeled out every time things go wrong.
Branches represent HQ.....not their members...so are we f**k the union.
The next line of course is....you voted for them....but none of them stood up at election time and said we intend to ignore everything you say....vote for us anyway.

:Very Happy :Very Happy How right you are! The self centred b*stard who wouldn't come to address the membership on the agreement, "because they had already made up their mind", had the gall just a few short weeks later to send to each of us a missive as to why he should be re-elected, which he was, because he had the support of the two MCs.......... the other candidate was also in a full time release position and both still hold those positions.

Your all arguing over whether or not the 2010 agreement was 'a good deal' or not. It does not matter the point is that no matter what deal was struck 'Do you really believe RM would honour it?' Well there in lies the problem. ;liar
