Any other MC's look like a rubbish tip this morning?Census forms strewn over every spare bit of floor space. Some boxed in yorks, some in sleeves, some in ALTS,even some LOOSE stacked in yorks!
.No extra staff to deal with this lot,and the contracts worth what,30 million?
So much for WCM

Re: Census shambles!
Doesn't surprise me, our collection people are supposed to seperate them out of the mail they lift but they've been given no extra time

Re: Census shambles!
Biggest prob i see with them is the size. They cant go onto most boxes without folding and they then get stuck halfway. Too many stupid questions and without them it could have easily been a normal letter size to send back. They would have fitted into all boxes alot easier for collections and then easily stacked into the mail boxes for transferring to mail centres.

Re: Census shambles!
Sounds more like bad practice from the mail centre as a whole rather than anything to do with WCM.hubbahubba wrote:Any other MC's look like a rubbish tip this morning?Census forms strewn over every spare bit of floor space. Some boxed in yorks, some in sleeves, some in ALTS,even some LOOSE stacked in yorks!.No extra staff to deal with this lot,and the contracts worth what,30 million?

NWMC obviously failed to clear last night but the Census mail was reasonably well dealt with in terms of it being extracted from general mail and stored in appropriate equipment. We even had a decent amount of allocated space to temporarily store it all.

Re: Census shambles!
This should be brought to the attention of the media. This will be another lost contract due to poor management who are more interested in wcm (trying to keep it going lol).

Re: Census shambles!
I had one of the census people knock at my door this evening to say I hadn't returned my form
I posted mine about a week after I received it, it went with the others in the mail centre, out of all of them mine gone missing? The guy said he'd make a note of it and if it's not turned up soon then he will be back to make me fill out another
wouldn't mind but they sent me a 2nd form 2 weeks after I'd returned mine and I sent that back with a note saying I had already filled one out and returned it 2 weeks ago, so are they also saying the 2nd one never turned up, I thought it was really organised at south mids

Re: Census shambles!
Its not beyond the bounds of possibility that the poor organisation is actually at the Census offices - after all we deal with 70million items a day and generally cope well. The census office are only this busy every 10 years and probably are not used to dealing with 28 million addresses in one hit either.HelsBels wrote:I had one of the census people knock at my door this evening to say I hadn't returned my form![]()

Re: Census shambles!
NWMC dispatched 70+ boxes of census mail on Tuesday 26th on our 10pm dispatch. Absolutely shocking to see how many people are sticking dates, going back a couple of weeks, on the envelopes to make it seem like it is our failure to process them quick enough.
