Supply Chain Eye Tests

Post by gusco »

Anyone on here from supply chain.

Have you been asked to read a number plate from so many yards- just like when you have a driving test?

During the current 6 month driving license check our boss informed us that it has been agreed with the CWU to do a driving test eye check up.

He proceeded to take people outside 1 by 1 to test their eyes. Then after several people had been outside, the rest of us had a chat and decided that we weren't doing it until we saw proof that it had been agreed with the CWU as the boss said it had been.

We are awaitin info from HQ on what happens next.

Is this happening in any other depots? or other parts of the business?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Thats the reason we gave for not doing the test - we wanted to know what happened if we failed the test. We were told we would be removed from driving and not allowed back until we had bought our own glasses
