A CITY grandmother has praised the Royal Mail after a postie delivered back a £10 note that she had accidentally posted with two letters.
Pat Thomas, from Kings Norton, couldn’t believe her luck when the money was returned with a note that said: “All the best Pat, Glen, Postman.”
The 66-year-old mum of two and grandmother of two accidentally posted the cash on April 7 at a post box near to her home on Druids Lane.
Pat, who does voluntary work with carers, said: “I think it’s wonderful.
“I was in a rush and I had just jumped out of the car on the way back to post two letters that were in my hand.
“I got home and started searching for the cash. That was when I realised I had accidentally posted it along with the two envelopes.
“I went back out because it’s just around the corner and just scribbled a short note, which I put in the same box.
“I said I had accidentally posted the cash at 9.10pm and the money would be loose in the post box.
“I included my name and address on the note and forgot about it.
“I couldn’t believe it when the money arrived back. Something like this really restores your faith that there are good people out there.
“I want to say a really big thank you to the Royal Mail and to the honest postman who found the cash.
“I thought the note was a really nice personal touch.
“Most people said I would never see it again, but it’s refreshing to see that there are some trustworthy people out there.
“Glen would not have known I am a pensioner and I just wanted the recognition for him and the Royal Mail.
“They have had it hard and there is always talk of takeovers and cutbacks.
“In fact, all we seem to hear is doom and gloom, so I wanted to make sure people knew about this instead.”

Re: Kings Norton grandmother praises RM for returning £10
There's many a grandmother in Kings Norton gets mugged on the way to the postbox if she might have a tenner on her, so she's a very lucky woman.
