Feels wonderful today - so this is what having a real weekend feels like! Thinking of that mountain of mail still sat in our delivery office also brings a smile to my face! Now, tomorrow. Tomorrow is a day of football. I think I might go to my seventh away game of the season - don't ask me how I've managed six already working most Saturdays, but I have!

I have been self employed for over 20 years & to have a bank holiday off is great let alone get paid for it

I would like to compliment my manager after today.

He was very kind to me when I walked in. Knowing that I had cut off on a different duty to the one I had been placed upon this week he, at short notice, thrust me back on to the other duty in a decision that was almost certainly contrived of no more devious a wish than to provide me with a joyous time in the beautiful weather (and certainly not out of spite, oh no, that sounds like a slanderous accusation to me). The person who would have been on it had offered to cover the excess for 2 hours overtime - a scandalous and fraudulent demand, I am sure. Better that my excellent manager deals with it in a far more appropriate way, allowing me to cut off again, giving another person 2.5 hours overtime to cover my cut-offs, and the driver who had to bring me back 1 hour to cover his shortfall at the end of his shift.

Quite simply I am indebted to my manager for his exceptional handling of the situation. That he saw fit to give out an extra 1.5 hours overtime just to allow me to enjoy a super happy fun day out in the country fills me with pride and joy. Anybody who thought I would have anything less than a super fun day, was sadly very mistaken.

But as I have already told you, my brilliant and skilled manager was not one of those people. This individual is a credit to this company. A cornerstone of tradition. A devout and faithful servant. An inspirational force for those he commands to rally around. An all-round stunning eleven out of ten kind of guy.

Few sky mags but no D2D's or election/referendum materials.

Expensive day. Food shopping £29.06. £47 for a filling repair. £35.93 for a couple of flourescent tubes and a bunch of plants for the fish tank.

No I think he meant he took some managers to fishes DO for the cut offs.

Double prep, lapsing, d2d, Sky mags, 75%+ of an a4 council mailshot, new walk to me and day off cover uses car so couldnt tell me splits/boxes etc. Finished late, docket in tomorrow, manager's face like a smacked arse.

popped into work on my day off, guessed that it was a light day as everyone was out of the office before 9 am. Hammered with post tomorrow is my guess too.

3 lots of door to door in the frame when I arrived & lots off kills offs left undone from my mon & tuesday off :(
Not a bad day tho & no rain, sunny again Thursday my shorts are going back on :)
