long keyer duration report

Post by newbie80 »

are all MDEC's partaking in battering people over spending over 20secs to key an image at the moment or is it just stockport? just out of interest really.

It's all of them! One week, I was pulled in (by a stand-in manager, who are generally more pushy than proper managers, for reasons best known to themselves) for having - gasp! - 23 images over 20 secs. I pointed out these 23 images represented 0.00046% of my output for the week - a statistical irrelevance. In other words, 99.99954% of my output was under 20 secs, which is the sort of success rate most businesses would die for.

Haven't been bothered since.

I am concerned about this recent obsession with largely irrelevant stats, though. I suppose it gives the coaches more bits of paper to carry around the place to make them look important. They don't seem to have any other discernable function.
You can't beat the system, but you can give it a bloody good kicking.

Coaches are also being told to get keyers to explain why they are taking so long on images too. None of them are doing so as far as I know. They have no desire to grill keyers and why the hell should anyone have to explain themselves to coaches? Sounds like Managers trying to shift some of the crap work/probable sh*tfest onto others  Also, don't knock the millions of stats sheets - it's all the direction the coaches get!
