no the big delusion starts at the top and is filtered downwards the ones who are suffering from it is messers :lfo :cfo as they set about to make even more wealth for themselves but the truth is they have been rumbled
the dissent you talk about is perhaps fallout from years of missmanagement and the chumps we have now have just intensefied the onslaught ofit by the strategy 'business plan' and thats alienated it workers even ones at your c.o you cannot do this without having the backing of your staff even if you have a million or two in the bank i know some quite wealthy people who run quite largish businesses and belive me they do not treat there staff like this
you perhaps see a diffrent aspect of the business to what your staff do at your c.o as your put there to increase revenue do you hassle your staff ? do you intimidate them ? because i get the impression from your cohort armani that would be a game plan ?can just imagine if he was in charge of some on here think he'd be moved for harrassing staff quite quickly

****READ THIS****Can i remind a few fellas here ( igot sick of readin pages 1-5 so skipped to the end of page 10 to post a quick reply) that Royal Mail (communications) pay peeps a whack of a wage just to spiffle RM B*LLSH*T. Time to realise this/your website is monitered by RM communications. They also post to the Hellmail website too. No word of a lie , but my eldest brother was in the RM Internal Communications area. As a thought to the moderators of this website you might want to ask posters their CWU membership number (but that i think might not stop them) Funnily enough my bro was EVR'rd outta the business 2 years ago on a princely sum. Time to get clued up methinks...............

Are you sure that's postmanpat and not prat?PostmanPat1961 wrote:Wow what a great thread|
Most of the people on here are from RM and have not got a clue how po ltd operate. They should stick to replying on RM issues and let us have a civilised discussion/debate. I agree with Armani and Bigjames. Armani in answer to your orginal question, its a lack of confidence that holds us back and a lack of leadership skills from older managers.

You've obviously got your future well planned and I'm sure that the best thing we can do is cut you loose and let the market deal with you appropriately - please don't apply to royal mail for a job when yours disappears as we only employ people who do a job and don't have room for those who only talk one. By the way can you have a debate between people who only agree with each other? I haven't seen any suggestions from either the unquestionably provocative plant called Armani or any of his miniscule number of associates.PostmanPat1961 wrote:Wow what a great thread|

"Do You Hassle Your Staff?"
The simple answer is - Absolutely Not!axeman wrote:no the big delusion starts at the top and is filtered downwards the ones who are suffering from it is messers :lfo :cfo as they set about to make even more wealth for themselves but the truth is they have been rumbled

I am not sure where Armani is going with his stuff, we almost have 2 threads in one going at the moment.
The way it works in my office is this - I tell them what our target is for the year and how that breaks down to a quarter, a month, a week and a day. At the beginning of each week I tell them what we did last week and how that leaves us in regard to our overall YTD target. I then tell them where we are with our Income Target, because as long as we stay over 90% we qualify for the £1000 bonus asscoiated with the conversion of our office to WHSmiths. I ask them what went well, in terms of conversations they are using, and I ask them for ideas regarding target customers, after all they serve them every day whereas I don't. Some target customers are obvious, anybody taxing a car obviously needs car insurance, so talk to them about it, but some of the other links are not so obvious, yet no less valid. The ones who are leaving to take VR I tend to leave to get on with it. The ones who are planning to stay I spend more time with, listening to what they say and trying to help them develop. Intimidation doesn't work, hassling them doesn't work. I get plenty of hassle from the level above me, but I rarely pass it down. What is the point, my team are already upset enough, why make it worse? As long as they come to work, serve the queue, don't hit any customers and we keep above the magic number of 90% I will be happy.
If I had a million or two in the bank I would probably not buy a Post Office!
