Now why do you think we'd be on minimum wage? I'll give you a clue. Horrendous Losses. Infact if we weren't Govt. owned we'd be all earning £5.65 with asda, Wh Smith and the likes.[/quote]

this is how you and your fellow breathren the other tw** 'the big man' think well it must really be a bit of a culture shock on here then. you both display traits of managers who for want of better words are completely devoid of rational thought of your own through you own depleated brain cells . most posties even ones whith a modicum of knowledge can see what is needed and it is not the downgrading of this once great service. yes the twa** in charge :lfo :cfo do have a lot to answer for, as it is now the world in which the dreams they had is slowly clouding over .

now back to you just where do your thoughts come from are they dictated to you by messers lateone & crazier from the manual of good business practice or do you make it up as you go along in hindsight the later is more near the truth but please gain more knowledge before you spout to us under the the pretense that you work as a counter clerk and if you are just have the balls to do right by your fellow strikers or you could end up as one of those w.h.smiths usdaw members if they allow unions

No need to sell products, thats too naff. Lets just make a loss, didn't you know losses are the new gains.

You seem to have it well sussed my friend. I'll bet it would eat dog s**t if its manager told it to and inform on any of its colleagues who complained.

IWW Fellow Worker wrote:Why should we come up with ideas to generate more profit for a business we don't own? It's not as though the group is a collective. Every day of the week, I can look around and see how things could be done in a more efficient way and I'm certain many others could do the same. Until such time as we own Royal Mail and the PostOffice, I won't be putting any ideas forward.
The last time I looked the Royal Mail Corporate Umbrella, including it's mail arm the Royal Mail, and it's public facing arm Post Office Limited were wholly owned by one shareholder - The Government. Unfortunately, like it or not, we are directly responsible for electing our Government so technically the Royal Mail Group is the property of the British people, run for us by the Government, and the people they put in charge. So in theory we should all reap the benefits of the profits that are made, or in the case of POL stand the cost of the £70million we lose each year. Until such time as the Government sells the company off it does belong to us, all of us. So in answer to your question -"why should we come up with ideas to generate more profit for a business we don't own?" I say why the hell not? it is your company, and in terms of POL it would be more accurate to speak of coming up with ideas to reduce our losses.
It's not my company. It's not my government either. Theory might be alright for people like you, but some of us live in the real world. We have a government and a system of management which is out to screw us into the ground. Now, shiny arses like you and little Lord Fountleroy there might be unable to see that, but plenty of us can. You just carry on strike breaking and sucking up to your betters and I'll continue to watch this system you are in awe of kill itself by its own corruption. The idea of asking us to bail out the company isn't a new one. They tried it years ago by asking the Children of Isreal to make bricks without straw. And we know what happened to that business.
Wow! I leave the computer for a few minutes to have my dinner and all hell breaks loose!

I didn't vote for this Government, but I know a lot of Post Office and Royal Mail people who did because of the hollow promises Labour made before the election. Sadly I feel you have got me wrong when you say that I am in awe of the system, I don't like it much, but we are stuck with it until the wind changes and we get someone else in charge. I am able to see only too well what is going wrong in my part of the business, I can't speak for Royal Mail as I have no experience of that side of it, but the way to bring about effective change is not by dissent, revolt and generally blaming everyone else. If you truly think that all of the ills of this entire company lie solely at the door of the Management then you are deluded.

Who would miss it if it did Harry? It's obviously a friendless, lonely creature.

"Bitter", yes, and with good reason.
"Personal flaming"?......... Well, you do seem to enjoy a bit of baiting, don't you?
"Nevermind, blah,blah,blah"............. Don't hold your breath, I too, enjoy baiting those who'd come on to a, what is, a pro-union site, and bait my
colleagues.
"In the meantime I truely am enjoying tugging my forelock"................ I don't doubt that for a nano second. :Very Happy

You're not a fellow worker, but I seriously think a slug like you genuinely is saddened to find someone doesn't like you. I expect you will get used to the feeling though. Right-wing turds like you chose the life you live, so you will get used to being hated.

Wow what a great thread|
Most of the people on here are from RM and have not got a clue how po ltd operate. They should stick to replying on RM issues and let us have a civilised discussion/debate. I agree with Armani and Bigjames. Armani in answer to your orginal question, its a lack of confidence that holds us back and a lack of leadership skills from older managers.
