Ive been here a year now and this is never gonna get any better, after 8 months i was made up to 30 hours, but not officially as i'm paid overtime, but then on my rest week i'm paid my regular 24 hours.

So basically it was a verbal agreement as a pos to a proper contract, and I'm also working with an expired contract also as nothing has been said or had no correspondence threw the post of a second 3 month renewal .

Also it seems like i give up 6 hours a week for free as my hours are 7 til 1 5 days a week and 6 til 12 on a Saturday, i am suppose to have 30 minutes break out of that, but would need to claim overtime on a daily basis if i did so, as finishing at 12.30 during the week is impossible.

Its mainly the prep of the door 2 doors, and delivering them that puts the time on me, ive been lucky enough to be kept on the same walk for a year so i know it to a T, so being made to throw other walks off n deliver them i think id really struggle, obv there will never be walk equality, despite what management say so could get placed on alot easier walk, but yeah im just sick of the same s**t everyday really, overworked and underpaid and it wont get any better.

wow !!!, when i started this thread i really had no idea it would generate so many hits. anyway guys, still slaving away, not been able to find a way out yet. things have taken a turn for the worst. after a row with the manager, he very kindly reduced my temp contract of 30 hours back down to 20 yet 2 recent starters are on 25...I've been at this hellhole knocking on 15 months....WTF. plus im still covering the same rural round as i was before he cut my hours. rep doesn't seem to give a rats. as i said in an earlier post, bide my time, sumat'll come up, it always does.......

Actively thinking,but not looking.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Me! I retire in a few months but I don't want to give up working, I'm too young despite what that machine says.

Double lapsing introduced today, its beyond a joke now. Overtime still not being paid, uneven lapsing, favourites given the cushy bits. My extra is easily a 1/3 of a walk. enough to fill 2 bags and they expect me to take it out with the first bag and door 2 doors even thought i dont have enough time on my own walk. Told lino im not doing it, your taking the mick (harsher words were used) and if you dont like it sack me. I really hope they do a life without the stress of being a modern postie would be a blessing. I think they were calling my bluff but i meant every word and left the office with the extra still in the frame. Did my walk and never returned to the office. Day off tomorrow and come Wednesday do not care about the outcome of my actions.

The line in the sand has been drawn and i will not accept any so called efficentcy saving ideas more from management, looking for new job now sad it came to this as i like my walk, the people i deliver to are lovely and appreciate my efforts to deliver a great service which management are determined to destroy.
