PLO1/PL04 Message on payslip

What the heck is 'New Deduction PL04I Taken From 18/04/11' all about? It's printed on my pay slip in the Messages box.

I was going to phone but there was a message saying it (mine was PL03I which I assume is for part timers?) is the new subscription from the CWU which is now being taken pro rata for your contract. It used to be one rate for PT and one for FT regardless of the number of hours the PT worked. Now, as I said, it's pro rata. Would've been nice to have been told though

Yeah, like you say - it would have nice to have been told or even a brief explanation with the message on the slip. BTW, I am on a PT contract too (25 hrs)

if its cwu payment well im baffled im on a 32 hour contract and pay now 3.11 but my good lady on a 39 hour contract only pays 3.01 !!!! my payment has nearly doubled so i shall be leaving the union

I'm on 29.4 (Don't ask!! lol) and my code was PL03I... Can't remember how much I'm being charged now, but it won't be for much longer either way

It is up to the CWU/RML to get the contributions right and mine went up automatically 2 weeks ago when my 40 hour contract kicked in. When I dropped down to 30 hours in September 2007 my subs went down automatically.

I belive here has been some restructuring of subs as well as a standard across the board type increase so some mbrs will have seen more than a 3% increase.

when it says new deduction it just means the amount has changed say cwu from 3.01 to 3.10 thats all

Two price hikes in the space of a few months, and the fact that I've seen little but incompetence from the CWU I've had face to face contact with means I'll be leaving.... If I can just find out how.... No one will tell me. Anyone on here know?

Actually its a merged thread from about 5 separate ones spread over the board. If OPs had done a search most would have found this thread hopefully they will do from now on.

Perhaps this is what was meant in the agreement in "putting the union finances on a more secure footing" - never really did get to the bottom of that little titbit.
