Those DIMs that are ex-posties, are the worst kind of collaborater. The sort that flourished in Nazi occupied Europe, betraying their own for few measly morsels. The Rat we have today in Royal Mail, once promoted to DIM, takes an almost perverse delight in betraying their former colleagues, and for sums I would never disgrace myself for in a million zillion years.

How proud a child must be to say, "My dad's a manager in Royal Mail." Then, the child grows up and finds out that his dad contributed in making the world what it is today. Pride in dad, shattered. And it will happen, believe me. :cuppa
