Didn't any of your mob think to tell the poor sod?
Hello, earth to POSTMAN - every man for his self.

Twats, the lot of them.

And is that not one of the problems? You will not help a fellow worker. How daft is that ?

I think that was my point - I wasn't the one refusing to help a fellow worker, it was "hampshireman" and his mates who presumably loitered prior to one of the managers intervening.

Anyhow, my day today was unpleasant. Loads of addressed election material, to every house. On a Saturday. Yahoo.

I thought that would be blatantly obvious tbt, you guys are simply not up to the task and will probably be let go when the new regime steps up to the plate and applies the "new business plan" :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

Chilling out today, cleaned the fish tank and changed the water. Gloriously sunny day here in Manchester. Out for some beers tonight and it's my day off tomorrow. :Very Happy

On another shitty rural this week.

It took me four and a half hours today. I had a crappy golf trolley thing to pull about. Have already been told all the usual crap - it's an easy walk, blah blah, so-and-so is home by yadda yadda. Living twenty metres from his last delivery point probably helps him there, and as for finishing early, using his car, running around, and then getting injured enough to be off work 'ill' has probably helped him in that respect.

But I digress. Everything is all over the place. I hate it. It's like walking in a maze half the time. If you know it, I'm sure it's a piece of mother frakking piss. But I don't know it. I've never been back on myself so many times in my life. Frankly, it's laughable that I can be put on this walk, in a village I have never even entered in my life, without a day's training. Post went in all kinds of places - I couldn't possibly say they were the right ones (nor could I say that I care).

Dead walk, dead walk, dead walk.

Fitting about as logical as a chocolate tea-cup.

One street, I walked from 60 to 30, then had to go to 59 (down to 31), then went from 28 to 2, before having to go back up to 29 and down to 1. I didn't even bother looking at the fitting because I had no idea what the frak was going on; named houses all over the shop, shops all over the house, flats all over the bastard, etc.

I kind of presumed it would follow on sensibly so I bagged it up as well as I had been advised.

But no, just a complete load of rectal fudge.

I'll have a better idea tomorrow but that's not really the point. This is the kind of walk that requires a certain level of local experience, knowledge and know-how, which I don't have. Not that the managers care.

Sounds like its 2 bundles backed so that you Zig Zag down the street - I do that on mine but then I have a bagging up guide for reserves. :angel

I don't need to know how it could be done - I realise how it could be done now! The problem I have is that it could just as easily have run from 60 to 2, then back up from 1 to 59, without any problems at all. In fact, if the walk was set out properly, it could all run quite smoothly. Unfortunately, it's a load of crap. The way the streets are, you should be able to have a fitting that is more or less a map, from points A to B to C to D, rather than A to D to C to B. It's not hard.

^^Those rounds that have been set up for a car driver :mad

Halcyon week at our place. Fantastic weather, fairly light mail and hardly any D2Ds. Will probably get clobbered with the usual farmfoods/pizza/virgin shite next week to coincide with the election guff. But for one week only :nana

All change! Instead of the p/t coming in and immediately going out on lapsing now the f/t have to do the lapsing. Of course its all too much for them with the double prep etc and there's been cutting off and refusing to lapse/d2d etc. Dunno how this is going to help matters but starting today the p/t have to start 30 mins earlier, if f/t cant manage to get 2 walks thrown up by normal start time, there's going to be even less done half an hour ealier in the day.
You couldnt make this s**t up could you?

That was very much my suspicion as well. The duty holder has been on the walk for quite some time and, as I've already mentioned, uses his own car. The math on this one is not too difficult - but when it takes me four and a half hours, apparently I'm some kind of criminal. It took me longer today so I must be up on murder charges by now!

Apart from the walk taking me longer, and apart from having to book more time, I enjoyed today. The weather was heavenly, my body has taken on a nice, golden-brown glow in the past few weeks. I'm sure it's a prelude to cancer, but there is no point worrying about such things before they have come to pass. I'm looking forward to Good Friday - there's plenty of football on, there's plenty of cricket on, the weather round here is forecast to be reasonable (22 degrees as well), and I'm off work to enjoy the whole of it.

Yay.
