What is the answer I use my vehicle to get to the depot and also to get to my walk (with the permission of RM and with the correct regs in place )
All use of private cars are banned in all offices after their park and loop revision, you are liable for conduct action and other members on here have been for using your own car even if only to get to your first delivery point
Yeah, yeah..
Private car issues will never cease. Some offices continue to use PCOD, if only to assist with the running of it - AFTER the revision has been implemented!
Start a new post on here and ask if PCOD's are actually being withdrawn in some offices - I DARE you!
Just hope you realise when the park and loop revision is complete, the insurance bond is automatically removed for your office, after that you will not be insured to use your car, so not only will it be a conduct offence but you will be breaking the law as well. Oh and as for starting a new thread asking if pcods are actually being withdrawn, then I don't need to I know they are
How could you possibly use your own car to get to your first dely point if your DO is starting P&L?
What is the other guy going to do when both of you leave in the same van at the same time FFS?
You both have to return to DO to pouch off or is he going to drop YOU of at your car?
Start doing the job properly and start on time and do all your hours, cos we have found out that managers are spying on staff and trying to put more workload onto them cos they fecked up with revision, so if you want to cut corners and end up with more work start as you mean to go on

I happen to think your right - but then the problem after a revision is not that you are using a car, but that your car will not be covered by any bond (so you have to pay out to 3rd party in an accident) and all postal items in the car will not be protected either. So to continue to use PCODs even for running to the first delivery point you will have to have extra insurance to cover your vehicle, the postal items and travelling on work related business (social use wont cover travelling from the DO to the delivery as your main place of work is the DO), this is a greater level of insurance than is currently required under official PCOD, which IIRC is just business use.

Yeah but at least you get mileage for using PCOD after a DM revision. Right Result
This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.

You hit that caps Lock maisymoo. Agree with the sentiment though. the problem is the world (that includes RM) is full of idle bastards that refuse to walk ANYWHERE.
Some of these idle buggers would have drive-in toilets if they could get them.
Que "I've got a long way to walk to my start point posts..." if you have then walk it, take the time to chill out and make your DIM sort the duty out. He's more likely to pull his finger out if it's hitting his budget!
More of a problem for Reserves who REFUSE to use their cars, I used to cycle out 2 miles to start a duty when the usual guy used to use his car. He did argue that, "I'm saving RM 40 mins a day!" No s**t Sherlock.

Car parking at it best was bad but now it is even worse and we are no longer able to park in Yard . I would like to point out this paragraph that was mention in my job application (You need to consider how you will get to work, as public transport may not be available at the start of your shift.)
And was wondering if any one has any answers?
we had similar problems at our place when p & loop was introduced in november, not enough room to park vans so a list was put up asking anyone who wanted to take a van home could do so.you need to fill a form out and get it signed off by dom/l.manager (van to be parked on/in garage, drive, well lit area, those kinda questions) i would say the majority of us now take a van home.admitted it may not be what you want to see outside your house, but it saves me about £20-£25 pound a week in fuel/parking.we also have an agreement with local council to park in one of their car parks between 06.00-10.00.basically we drive to work, park in car park until we are ready to leave office, load van up in yard (still a ball ache sometimes but better than it was) do our round come back drop bags/pda(s) any undelivered items off then go home in van.if its your week/day off you have to leave van at office.hope this answers some of your points.
Interesting solution Kewell. We've covered taking vans home in previous posts, and I believe at the time the majority were against it. A lot of the "I don't want a Red eyesore in my drive..." type posts.
However several months later and with Fuel prices soaring I think I'd probably consider it if offered. Likely to save me about £30 a week = over £1400 a year. Better than a pay rise.
