temps/casuals

whats happening at watford mail centre? fri & sat l've seen individuals out delivering post in the WD area looking very puzzled, clutching what looks like a map walking very slowly up and down various roads. one of them had a large bulky rucksac on his back, plus carrying a bulky royal mail pouch looking totally bemused, friends tell me they are polish agency staff. would be interested to know how long they take to do a walk, accuracy of delivery, weight of pouches, safety of mail, reason why they are being used and cost? got a suspicion that there will be rather a kot of misdelivered mail and e bay sellars from poland. hopefully management are doing regular pouch/security checks.

We have a casual started in our office 2 weeks ago,was trained(yes hard to believe)for a week on 1 walk and has been out on his own this week,he is taking 5 and a half hours to deliver the walk!!!!! It was his day off today and as floater I was on the delivery-I had 18 complaints of misdelivered mail,by the end of the delivery I was ashamed to be a postie-its a disgrace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The rucksack on his back was probably his tent and provisions for when he gets lost....Now I know what the observation test we used to take was for.....does anyone else remember them? the ones that used to ask you where the sun rises and sets and where the best place to pitch a tent, beginning to wonder why they stopped using them!!!!
