These figures are for delivery traffic only. It doesn't take into account the profit making parts of the group. A selective release of the figures i would say.

- It's hardly the first time there's been legal creative accounting and spin , also the motives for doing so are suspect. :lfo

Downstream access made a loss of £44M compared to a loss of £14M the previous year – this is because of volumes more than doubling to over 2.4 billion items.

Only at Royal mail would this happen..
The more of our competitors work we do the more money we lose.

Sack the pair of them.

It's what we've always suspected , run the Post Office down , big up the competition , that dog food munching spiv has already tried part privatization twice . Then you've got those failed free-marketeer Tories in Postcon with thier ideology , two attack dogs .

Sack the pair of them.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I really cannot see us being privatised because lets face it, who would buy shares in a company that is making a loss and will continue to do so? We are more likely to be sold off to the highest bidder, TNT perhaps.

Q. Who exactly are the Competition?
A. People who'll post a letter for you.
