I don't think it is worth striking this year. But if there is one it need to be a week long rather than a day or two.
maybe 1 week for mail centre then 1 week for delivery then mail centre then delivery.
(Hopefully in my 3 weeks off in June)

Strike will do nay good the public are suffering, Armed forces Police companys going to the floor with compulsary redundancies, what right have we to say what we are and not going to do, I have walked the line side by side with brothers on every occasion I have been asked to. But got to say as alot do in our office we had the buisness on its knees the last two strikes and the union have backed down on both occasions. I dont think they would secure a yes vote this time I really dont? Im not saying I would vote yes until the union present enough evidence they this time have a game plan.

Get a grip pal.
dont understand this,
it makes no sense whatsoever -can you please explain,
If you mean by gettin a grip, i should support what i dont believe in , you can go and hassle someone else, you pathetic little person, what a bloody cheek!
I suggest that it is you that should get a grip, a grip on reality, wake up and smell the coffee, this is not the right time or conditions to take on the employer,
Edit.
Just searched your posts and one you say you have managed to get ya 4 day week back !!!
Now it makes sense,

In my opinion the get a grip was not aimed at any of those points at all

Your own post says
Why did london strike longer than anyone else? I heard it allegedly was because they wanted to keep their ghost overtime, and wanted to have 4day weeks and be paid overtime for it.
I apologise and stand corrected if i am wrong about this info
So as he said "get a grip" he meant don't swallow RM propaganda without checking the facts. Your post as quoted above was what RM Management was saying during those strikes and it was not true then and it's not true now.

I am in Huddersfield but went on the 26March in London and had a chance to speak to loads of London Posties.

1. They do not do ghost overtime as a matter of course - like everyone else if the manager wants them to extra work beyond their hours they can say yes or no, and they can come to a deal or accept the standard rate. That's one of the effects of having a piss poor over time rate - if it's not worth doing at the rate they pay and if the Manager wants someone to cover it he makes a deal. If he doesn't make a deal he can do it - it's the law of supply and demand which RM like so much.

2. 4 Days weeks does not mean they work less than 5 or even 6 day posties - it means they work 10 hours a day instead of 8.

3. 4 Days weeks and overtime - that does not make sense you only get overtime if you work beyond your contracted hours ie for full timers 40 hours (per week). You can't get overtime if you work 10 hours on a 4 day week.

4. London went on strike longer because RM went after them 2nd (BTW London were not the first out and IIRC parts of Scotland started their strikes first and spent roughly the same amount of time out). They removed the 4 day week by EA which was against the P&M2007 agreement and IIRC changed start times again by EA.

Question : Is it wise to insult THE OWNER of this very site you are posting on.

Same here. I'll fight to get back what was taken from me, :left: :left: :left: but I will not strike to keep RM to a deal that does absolutely feck all for postal workers, except make senior managers wet dreams become reality. Dirty w*****s. :evil/mad
Let me say this very clearly!
if we go on strike......it will be to defend the agreement! not to renegotiate a new one.
Everything that was given up in the last 2 agreements is gone forever. :evil/mad
And thats the bottom line really "gone forever" . No i would not go on strike to defend a totally crap agreement as i cant see the point in loosing any more money. This is where the CWU are going to fall down for pushing an agreement which was so hated in the first place. :no no

If by some miracle they were to rip it up and start again then that would be different (aint going to happen). If they ballot now I think it would fail but as ive said before I would not cross a picket line should they secure a yes vote.

Sorry my fault should of made my point clearer but there are only so many times that i can read i aint going out for London without biting.
Teebs has near enough cleared it up.
Thanks Krussel, although tbf site owner or not if i post wrong i still deserve to get my ear clipped.

When London had exec action it was decided as a division to go all out, when others had it they went out here and there and the odd office.
We got 'some' of our stuff back but not all,i got my 4 day week back as per the P&M 'national agreement'.

EA started in Scotland and filterd through the regions,it hit London and the rest is history.
CR could start in London, where next?

Although tbf things have moved on nationaly and the whole place is in a mess.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

And let me be equally clear, I will never do anything in defence of this shabby agreement, never. :cuppa
As for everything we've had taken from us, being gone forever....I disagree......Where there's the will, there's always the way.
However, this would mean the CWU ending the ludicrous farce of being all things to the ruling middle class. The CWU is a trade union, and by God, it damn well needs to start acting like one, whether Miliband, Cameron, Clegg, or any other middle class twit, likes it or not. :evil/mad
