You turn a key open the box empty the mail in the bag close the door and turn the lock . Nursery kids could do it .
My point is if you are doing this over and over daily it becomes standard procedure and to leave keys and a box open and drive off pmsl come on axeman its a red face for royal fail and all us that work in it .

There is too much bloody whinging in Royal Fail

I am near retirement and in the early days everything run like clockwork and the workers did what they where paid for and on time .

Im now at the stage to declare a 1st Class Stamp isnt worth its money as everything about Royal Fail is second class and half hearted .

Whatever happened to being a good worker and being proud to say you worked for Royal Mail .

You cant even be arsed to address the company you work for as Royal Mail

....... and you ignored his question

So I shall ask it again - should Royal Mail sack for a single mistake. :hmmmm From your reply I would guess you would support that. Of course any decent manager would investigate the reasons behind this lapse of concentration, they would ask if there was anything on the persons mind, were the stressed, had more work been added etc etc. Only in RM management is the working environment and working practices ignored and all the blame placed on the lowest common denominator - ie the worker.

Not saying that the posties is not at fault but a common theme in accident investigations is that the final error is only the last in a long chain of events and faults, and good companies would and should recognise this is the same for when lapses like this occur.

Ive left a key in a box and walked off before and one of our drivers also recently had a whole set 'stolen' although i honestly think he just forgot them as well. :chuckle My point is its easily done when your rushing around trying to finish on time to avoid have to beg for OT money. In the case of our driver the whole routes locks were changed in a couple of hours so its not like its huge problem. Just a silly human error nothing more!

ah goody 'two shoes' sorry iv'e not replied sooner been in france and time to reflect and think just why royal fail has turned into a two faced employer one reason is people just like you who'd have us sacked for even the slighest demeanour,
of course as i said before you have never made a mistake ? as a manager once told me a man who's never made a mistake has never made anything!. Now my reason for the 'royal fail' tag is quite simple they are hiding behind ignorance of the masses that post mail , they dont give a fig wether it arrives at it's destination on time so long as it out the office, and you sir defend that sham service

there are none so blind that cannot see
