Re: ANY GOOD MANAGERS??
I came across a good manager it was about 1989.
The rest are lying, two faced fuckwits who would sell their own mother for a bonus.

Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Re: ANY GOOD MANAGERS??
Tricky, there are some out there as I've had odd ones as my manager over the years, although higher management prefer the nasty bullying arseholes as they have a tendancy to hit targets and the like purely through being twats.
Of course if you let them bully and be twats they shine, so it always pays to be clued up and react accordingly, they don't like it when they fail to acheive.
But they are just doing their jobs and are under pressure from their managers to perform, but still, that's no excuse to be a twat!!!

Have i got this wrong our are you suggesting the changes are for the better, the new starts are not spoiled like the rest of us, and if we don't like it we should go and get a job elsewhere!rod147 wrote:Bottom line is and always should be....if it's such a poor place to work....do something about it!...and if there are no positives it is definitely time to move on and not drag your colleagues down with you.
i know a few managers who are decent people, i know ssome who are not and are only out only for themselfs.
My problem with most managers is the same though, they cut hours from the office, as they are told to do. They then treat extended delivery overtime as compusory, as opposed to seeing it as their job to arrange overtime cover......and that is their job!
My real problem is with the managers at the top, whose orders they follow.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: ANY GOOD MANAGERS??
weve no full time staff now so the managemrnt need to get that extra 1,000,000 % out of you to cover the fact were short on staff by a mile. The jobs that are working are the ones who come in hours before there time and use there cars ,take d t ds home etc. The few who are doing the job correctly are getting out late. Had a cpl of doms who were human though.

Re: ANY GOOD MANAGERS??
For me any manager needs to earn respect. For example we had a young lady as a dom who would take out half a walk herself if she could not get it covered on OT, instead of using agency staff. On a heavy day she would also stay to see all the postie’s back and if necessary do any cut off's and that earned her a lot of respect within the office as she was not above getting her hands dirty.
The managers ive had recently will do almost ANYTHING to avoid any delivery work and cant wait to get out the door ASAP which is normally 3 hours before me on a sat.

Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
