The Mail FA Cup 2011

Post by bradleypostie »

I am sad to report the cancellation of the mail fa cup i started up 3 years ago. I dont know if anyone remembers or cares that mrs pearce won last years cup by thrashing mrs collins in the final by 3 flats to 1 i think. Well this year the ivor dewdney pasty shop absolutely destroyed mr peters of 28 acorn drive in the final. They took him apart with 5 letters to 1 followed by 2 flats to nil. It was carnage to be honest. As our new ways of working are in now i havent even got time to breath let alone anything else which prompted me to cancel the new season. I hope anyone will join me in a 1 minute round of applause for the demise of such a great "make your day more exciting" mail game. By the way i must add that last years winner mrs pearce was knocked out early by the barnett family in what proved to be an exciting battle. We often look back in wonder at the past 3 years, well i say we, i meant me.

It was the only thing that was keeping me going to be honest. Even though the missus and kids left me 2 years ago i still used to go in to work with a smile on my face. God i miss the excitement every evening where i would pull 2 addresses out of the hat and lie awake at night wondering who would beat who. Would it go down to packets or could there be an upset? You know, this is what lifes all about but even thats gone now.

What about a D2D world cup?
That'll keep you busy and maybe numb the pain quicker.

yeh i can see the benefits of a d2d world cup but it would be like taking on a new mistress. i cant do that to my old game, my heart just wouldnt be in it. she served me well for 3 glorious years making me live the dream and filling my life inside work and outside with untold excitement. if i did take the d2d world cup on i can see me cheating on her and counting the odd bit of mail now and again when i should be concentrating on the d2d. It just wouldnt work, im sorry.

sorry to hear about the demise of the mail fa cup. did you tell the pasty shop of its superb result? they might consider sponsering you for the forthcoming season. something along the lines of paying any o/t that might be occured. mayb you could rig up something for your hct/golf trolley or vehicle. play during meal breaks. how about getting the pasty shop to give your planner and dom free pastys or pies to add more time to your round? ne way i for one will give your mail fa cup a round of applause and remember mail volumes r dropping :chuckle so ne future games might be devoid of goals.

You say the missus has fecked off and taken the kids with her, and you're worried about taking on a mistress
Run with Postman's idea and have a D2D World Cup.
Get back to your tension filled sleepless nights, drawing teams out of your Wee Willie Winky. :Very Happy

Oh, I remember this. I even had a go at it myself but I lacked Bradley's level of enthusiasm (obsession) and soon gave it up. Sad to see another revision victim bite the dust.
Just spilt stain-remover down my shirt. Now how do I get that out?

Mine would be Virgin.

It would have to be by sender though wouldn't it after all if you did it by house then it would be continual score and no score draws :Very Happy :Very Happy

All this talk of a d2d world cup is making me a bit tearful. Are you guys being serious about it or are you joking me? Please dont mock me as this is a subject close to my heart. How would you like to lie awake at night crying into old photos of trays of mail and bags of packets. I took them on my last day of the final mail game. The lads and i are in most of the photos with various bits of mail that were lucky enough to be chosen to be in the piccie. How i laugh now as i look at me holding a packet up that was for Mr Thomas which incidentally was decisive in his victory over Mr Williams in the quarter final. Great memories.

The D2D World Cup is a non-starter.
Either both "teams" would be getting D2D that day and so it would be a high scoring draw. Or one of the teams would be getting D2D and the other team not, Or neither would be getting D2D so 0-0.
The D2D World Cup is a stupid idea.

Sometimes when I'm really bored I play left buzzers against right buzzers on the blocks of flats.
