We did get our own back on said manager one day, when the regular man who opens the office up, took ill over night and was unable to transfer the keys over to some one else. Instead of disturbing our fallen comrade from his sick bed - we took it upon ourselves to drive to our managers home and get him out of bed - on his day off ! Needless to say, he wasn't pleased - but such is life and the Queens Mail must be delivered - by any means necessary

Re: Manager knock on my door
Our assistant DOM takes great pleasure in ringing people while they are ill - to check up on them. he also flaunts various privacy laws by phoning people on their designated day off to see 'if they'd like to come in ' , because he has failed in his job doing the staffing for that particular day. One lad, who had swapped holidays months in advance with another colleague, but the manager had failed to make a note of it, was rudely awoken from his slumber and asked 'If he was going to bother showing up for work that day" - our comrades reply " No, Feck Off, I'm in bed...in Spain!".

exactly, its the only word out of our reps mouth,i can remember phoning in sick last year and the same day got a letter inviting me in for an interview to discuss barriers preventing me from returning to work. they also expect you phone each day at your start time just to tell them you won't be in,also our last rep is now a manager and our current manager used to be a rep, just how widespread is this.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Manager knock on my door
no i didn't, i spoke to the area rep when i got back to work and he told me we need to see things from managements point of view and as for the manager coming to your house he advised me to sneeze in his face if it ever happened. advice worth every penny of £3 union feesPOSTMAN wrote:Please tell me you didn't!tiggle wrote:
